I am looking for a diff cover with a rear mounted plug so that I dont have to jack the car up to check the fluid each time. I check the fluid every now and then and just think it would take a little less time if I didnt have to get out the jack and jackstands. I have seen the Downs cover with the adjustment bolts. I am not at the stage where I need that option right now. However, in the future I may be there. If I buy a cover like the Downs, with the adjustment option, will I have to use the two bolts or can I just pull them back and not deal with them until necessary. Or, if you know of just an 8.8 cover with a rear plug that would be helpful too. Thanks. samGT.
After checking my catalogs, I found one in ford racing part number M-4033-G1... It's an aluminum axle girdle. It has a fill plug and a drain plug. If you want it, I can order it for you. But it's really expensive $178!!! Summit has it for $208.39
Wow, that is expensive for an aluminum cover. Crane (http://www.rokmen.com/crane.html) has a steel one (for 8.8 4x4) for 171, not exactly a racing cover though. Thanks for looking Mana. I am gonna keep looking though. I want a steel one if possible, but like everything else it seems, I dont want to pay that much for it (at least not right now I mean). I might end up going with yours though.
