Buy a cheap set of 15 inch wheels and get some ET streets or ET drags and swap them at the track.

yeah if you are interested in 1/4 mile times at the track your best bet is getting a set or drags for track use only. As far as street tires go, high mileage and "stickyness" do not go hand in hand. It is usually one or the other, if you have a soft sticky tire it is not going to last long, if you have a hard tire it will not grip as well but last longer. As far as street tires the key is to find the happy medium. Nitto's are good, very stick, other good brands are falken's, goodyear, kumho, etc... For the most part, many of the tires will perform similarly.

You will definately see more wear with a drag radial. Beware of a drag radial at the track though. When you dead hook them they wont take up some of the shock like a slick will and with 28 spline axles its not a good thing.

I'll agree with the drag radials for the track. I used Kumho Ecsta Supra's for a while but couldn't find them in my area the last time I needed tires so I switched over to Yokhama Avis S4H with a speed rating of 95H. They grip pretty well, not quite as well as the Kumho's but have better wet traction than those.

DO THOSE KIND OF TIRES EXIST? Usually my tires only last 18 months if I'm nice to them. I bought some Ventice 275/45/17's for $100 a tire at Les schwab. They grip ok for the price and their fatty tires!

Yep be real careful at the track. I broke mine and my car isnt even fast. Fixed it now with Moser 31 splines, gridle cover weld torque boxes, weld tubes ect. That was a $1000.00 mistake.

As far as tires, MT drag radails really hook, I run 255-50-16 on 95 GT wheels with 165s and convo pros up front
