Default Anti Theft light

Usually when i open my door the passive anti theft light flashes. Also when i lock the car the light comes on and stays on for a bit then goes. This is how it has always been since i had the car and i figure thats normal. I noticed today it didnt do this. So my first thought the bulb might went out. Well when u turn on the car and all the lights light up to check to see is the systems work..i.e. abs, low coolant light, check engine light, the theft light lights up and then goes out like its supposed to. Any ideas on this?
Dont know if this is related or not but the lever that controls the windshield wiper and bright lights and turn signal, when u flick it forward the brights come on, but when u flick it back it doest click it just flashes ur brights. Well mine dont flash when flicked backwards. It works in forward tho. There is gotta be a fuse or sumthen that is controlling the theft light and this or sumthen. I am confused here. Also in the past when i had my windows down and locked the car with the alarm i reach inside the car to open the door and this set off the alarm. Well i tried this after honking the car today and it doesnt go off. But if u hit the panic button the alarm goes off...

Yea, I'd say something is deffinately wrong with the electrical system. I would start pulling fuses to see if one is blown. If no fuses are blown, maybe call the service department at a Ford dealer and describe the problems to them.

Does the interior courtesy lamp come on when the door is opened? If it doesn't then the door ajar switch is probably bad, the anti theft module isn't receiving a signal telling it the drivers door is opened. As for the problems with the wiper/turn signal switch (its called a multifunction switch) they go bad after a period of time. Usually the problem is with the wiper delay part of the switch. As for the switch causing a problem with the anti theft system its highly unlikely.

Yeah the only problems i have had with this car are electrical gremlins. Yes the courtesy light comes on when the door is open. As far as my brights, they work when i push the switch forward like they are supposed to so thats not a huge deal, i hardly use them anyways and if i need to i can. Just cant flash them. The theft thing isnt a huge deal either just a little pain, cuz i like everything to be perfect in my baby!
