I just put a basani x-pipe w/cats on!!! It is sooooooo loud. (but i have a 5spd). I'm really happy with it. It was $400. I still have stock mufflers too! That will change though. Magnaflow cat back is nice as well, if you don't want it reallllly loud. Good luck!

looking for a new exhaust sytem, and wanting someother mustang lovers advice.
i want to have the deep, throaty rumble that the stock gt has ( mine is an 01 auto), maybe a tad louder.
I have Borla Stingers...best sound I have EVER heard on a Stang...I receive many compliments on it.

Sorry, you cant have one without the other. ANY catback system that increases the sound outside the vehicle is going to increase the sound inside the cabin...what you want to avoid is a system that has excessive DRONE!! Its like a harmonic resonance that, at a given RPM, will sound like a giant tuning fork vibrating in your car. My Borla system has very little drone and only at about 2000 rpm.

choices or options?
looking for something in the 3-500.00 range. thanks guys!
Again, I highly recommend the Borla Stinger system, its deep and throaty, not too loud and no raspiness. They slip on and can be taken off just as easy. There is another guy on here who has them, I bought mine after reading his thread. The fit and finish are second to none (except perhaps for Bassani). I've heard very good things about Magnaflow, however, I read somewhere that they are discontinuing the Magnapack line ( I'm not sure if thats true).
Stay away from Flowmaster...they're great for older pony cars, but sound like crap in our newer Mustangs.
Hey,
i want the SLP loudmouth becuase it loud...thats what i hear. i never heard them in person, only a sound clip on Mustangexhaust.com i was wondering if there was any other catback sys. that are loud? and also, does the loudmouth backfire a lot? or is it smooth flowing?????
I had the exact question I got the Magnaflow Magnapacks, these suckers gave me more power and they sound absolutely awesome. No drone at all below 80 miles per hour, they are loud as hell. Punch it and old people will scream at you. It was funny but my neighbor shouted at me when I took of normal. He thought I was racing. Haha.

My next door neighbor never set her alarm clock once we got the exhaust changed on the '03. She said there was no way she could ever sleep through me leaving for work. Oddly enough I always left at the same time she was getting up so she wasn't mad at all. pretty cool chick actually, especially for 40 years old.
