the 4.6 does not have an upper and lower intake. It is a one piece intake manifold. Some people refer to the plenum as the "upper intake," but technically it is just the plenum and the intake is one piece. But to answer your question yes i believe that there are a few intake manifolds available for the 4.6npi. You could put a pi intake manifold on, that is probably the cheapest intake with a decent power gain. If you want an actual aftermarket brand then you will be looking at spending 1000+ on it.

Also, incase you didnt know what i mean by pi intake, it is the intake used on the 99+ 4.6pi motors. You can get one of those either new from ford, or as a take off part and get the special gaskets to mate the pi intake with the npi heads. If you need the link i can send it to you for the gaskets. Other options incluse richard racing, and fox lakes p51 intake. Other than those 2 i can not think of any other options as far as the intake goes for the 4.6npi.

===just read your sig, you already have the pi intake, sorry i didnt see that. Than your only option is ther 2 aftermarket ones i mentioned.

If he allready has the adaptors for the PI intake he could also go with the bullit intake as well.

The performance gain for a street car from the 'aftermarket' manifolds are questionable, especially considering the price. Money is better spent elsewhere. Putting on the Bullitt manifold and its' maybe 8Hp gain is more money than having the heads ported. In multiple other threads, HG has been working on/or working up to the PI head swap - not clear where he's at w/that yet. Price of any of the manifolds besides the stock PI manifold is more than a brand new pair of complete PI heads from FRPP. The PI manifold is fine for the street.

Here is the link to the DSW PI intake kit that Livernois sells. I have read an article in one of the magazines that showed something like 20+ rwhp avg gain on a non-PI motor, all stock. This add says they got a 35 rwhp peak gain, but I dont know at what rpm. High end I would imagine. Personally I dont know about any of these results. I can only think of one member here who has done this swap.

HG you have posted so much different info in so many different threads I am not sure how to take some of your posts. Honestly, for someone who asked so many basic questions, you sure have a lot of parts on your car...parts that you have asked about installing or their benefit. So let me get this straight...you already have a PI intake on top of some ported and polished non-PI heads? If so dont worry about getting PI heads. Non -PI heads can outflow stock PI heads if ported right. You should consider some new cams, springs, and followers. And a good tune.

As TwoKings indicated above, the PI manifold swap might be 20+ HP; add 8-15HP for the TB & Plenum. If replacing the stock plenum, you do not run an intake spacer. These HP gains probably assume the exhaust has been upgraded as well.

What in your signature has already been done to the car, and what are things you WANT to do??? All of the above info has been in replies to the many other threads you have posted and then some.

This is my last reply to a HG post.
