im having the same problem....i just took out the dome light...idk whats wrong
I haven't solved the problem... but I will keep you updated. The previous owner of my MUSTANG had the problem and never solved it. Sounds like another "A to B" driver, so the lights constantly stayed ON and it actually melted the plastic protector of the lights and part of the bottom of the rearview mirror from being constantly on.
I disconnected the rear cable that feeds electricity to them until I figure out what's wrong and I suggest you to do the same if you don't want melted plastics on your dome lights. If you have a convertible, you can't remove the rearview mirror either, so it's a temporary solution.
I got the feeling it's one of the door ajar sensors... because of the beeping twice when using the remote. If whoever posted up there that it beeps once to let you know the car is locked, or beeps twice to let you know something is open or a light is ON is right, then I'm sure I'm tracking the right trail. I promise to keep you posted if I find out what's causing it.

That is what my 2000 GT does. If the either door is not closed, mine will beep 2x. If both doors are closed, it beeps 1x. (when lock is pressed 2x or more on the remote)

Well buddie, I think you made it very clear now... I'm thinking the problem is right in front of my nose and I'm sure it has to do with what you pointed out. Pretty much we're not hijacking the thread since this is one of the most effective ways to know your MUSTANG's door ajar are dirty or deffective. Because I've never seen a MUSTANG with a DOOR AJAR LIGHT. Anyways, thanks for the tip Chip. I gotta search for a thread on DOOR AJAR SENSORS and see what shows up. I think I'm on the money... lol
By the way, I know I said it before... I don't even like green, but that's a NICE RIDE!

Naah, It's beautiful, I'm not just saying it. Personally, green is not a color of my liking, but yours really is beautiful. And the mods, boys will always be boys...
I'm guessing, (mine is a 3.8L V6 completely stock and it does 7 seconds from 0 to 60, {therefore}) yours would break yours and your wife's neck flooring it at WOT from 0 to 60... hopefully you got bucket seats.
So, she would say:
"DANG, I'M GOOD PICKING COLORS!" lol
We totally hijacked this thread Chip... let's apologize. lolWe're truly -not- sorry, but we won't do it again...

I know, right? I was gonna try out for America's funniest dude, but I just find leaving people behind to be twice as hilarious... so I bought a MUSTANG and quit the other idea. lol. Naah, I'm messing with you.
Well, the stealership and I know it's not mispelled because I went there to get 3 new remotes for my MUSTANG because the one I currently have does not open the trunk and I also lost the spare... but whoever finds it is skruued because I reprogrammed my remote thanks to the help of GRN 00 GT who posted that video.. and it does work. Now hopefully the spare wouldn't work on my car.
But anyways, they charged me OVER $100 dollars (almost $200) for the physical price and to reprogram the three remotes. Of course, I told them I would be back as soon as I won the lottery... they probably expect me to go back, but it hasn't happened yet.
My advice to you, if your MUSTANG didn't come with keyless entry... you should first find out if it is because you didn't get a remote, or because the hardware is not installed. Depending on the year of your MUSTANG, I think keyless entry is pretty much standard. If it is your 94 GT, I'm sure it should have the hardware installed. I would look for Online Retailers and they might have cheaper remote units. Then you could ask me or any of us for advice on reprogramming it.

Little update for you buddy... I got a website worth checking out! 1994 Ford Mustang Keyless Entry Remote 94 V6 GT Cobra - Original Keyless
For $39.99, I'm actually thinking of buying them myself... I found it for you and I feel kinda hooked.. lol. I'm seriously thinking about it. They even send them with the batteries installed. How convenient! Good luck, and I found a job already... so now I just gotta save some money.

and no, i was talkin about my 98 GT cuz i kinda... errr... sold my 94 lol i think we talked about that at one point?? but no i have a 98 mustang GT now that i got wrecked.... and there was like an impound lot tag in it and on it it said "no keys" so im sure the keyless entry is just simply missing.... but thanks for the research for the 94
and 2 things, i wave to every mustang i see now in my v6 car and i havent gotten a single wave back.... maybe i oughta just stick to waving in the pretty car hahahaha
and the other thing is; not sure if this helps you but, when i push my LOCK button twice, my horn beeps ONCE with the door open....
if i do the same with the door CLOSED, it still only beeps once....
and thats on my 98 mustang v6 3.8L.... i will let you know about the GT whenever i get the keyless remote for it LMAO

Boy!... forget those happy pills when you're driving. lol. Yeah, I'm like "DUH, I'M stupid" because we did talk about that. So, silly me, uuhm... one thing, if it's a 98 GT I looked on that website and they don't have that year's remote. My best advice would be dropping by the stealership and asking them like I did. If you think it's outrageous the lottery argument always works! lol.
About waving, go to the other thread and go all out up in there like DMX... I still beep briefly to every MUSTANG owner. Usually they only wave when my top is down, but I just like to get annoying so they realize what they drive is something to be proud about.
So, anyways, try that... go to the stealership and ask them what would be the total price. Just make sure you have a key with you and you're not jump-starting or high-wiring your car... nothing crazy like that.. ok? lol. They would think you stole it or something. So, really from the heart, good luck with that buddy... expect between $30 and $60 dollars for at least one remote and to reprogram it though. Your better option would be trying to buy all the units you need and then reprogramming it yourself. It'll be cheaper (cheaper than have them do it for you.)
So, be cool and keep waving... Let me know how it all turns out.
