Well I have about 100-150 dollars to spend on a mod. I have flowmasters and a k&n drop in. What company has the best/most affordable pullies? What mod would you guys do next? Keep in mind this is for an 03 Mach 1 32v 4.6.
Thanks
Ive alwyas been told that Steeda make good pullies

Save up another $50 and get 4.10 gears. If you insist on pullies, I've never had any prob with BBK's, but those are the only ones I've used, so I don't know any different.

I've been around various mildly modded cars for years, but have never looked into pulleys. I'm thinking about getting them for my 02 GT.
What is the difference between "good" pulleys and "bad"? On one website I've found they have Steeda brand and March brand. The Steedas are $169, the March's are $129. The only visible difference is that the Steedas are black and the March's are aluminum or chrome.
So what makes the Steedas (or any brand) worth an extra $30? Or are their pulleys the same as everyone else's but cost more 'cause they say "Steeda"...
Thanks.

well first thing to look into would be the percentage of underdrive that the pulleys are. For example i believe steeda and march are 25% underdrive. Some other brands may be more underdrive but will also effect your charging and cooling system. Yes these pulleys may make slightly more power but they will cause your charging system to charge bad and lights to dim at stops etc... also the car may overheat a little because of the lower circulation of the water pump. Steeda and march are both 25% which is about the most underdrive you can go before effecting the charging and cooling.
Another thing to look at is the crank pulley. Some are "piggyback" and some have an sfi approved rubber dampner built in. The one with the dampner is the better, more expensive type of crank pulley. Steeda uses the dampner pulley, and march has an option for the upgraded dampner pulley. Some companies uses the piggyback style crank pulley which gives you a new pulley and then has you bolt the stock pulley to it as a dampner. The dampner like i said is more expensive but is more durable and will perform better. Also if you use the piggyback style you would not be able to add a timing adjuster down the road if you ever wanted to.
Those are the 2 main things to look at about pulleys. Other than that quality obviously comes into play.
save up and go for the gears...underdrive pulleys u wont feel the horsepower ur only looking at like 3-5 horsepower
