Never heard of that even as an option, I know if you can get the DA to reduce to 9mph or under then it wont go on your Insurance

I don't know how it is in North Carolina but at least here in Texas before you go to Court, you have an option of getting either Deffered Judication or taking the Driver Safety Course if you didn't go over 15mph over the speed limit. Don't know about what your state has

Well I went to court (in NC if the reduce it 9mph or under you get no insurance points the ass. DA would only reduce it to 10 mph so I ask the judge for a pray for judgement, which means no point no fine just court costs However the catch is .......If I get another speeding ticket with in a ceertain amount of years(dont know how many) then they could bring this ticket back up against me. With that said I drove back to Raleigh(1hr drive) with the cruise control on and as soon as I got to Raleigh I went and had me car inspected (it expired January) NC County inspection. Get this I had one now I say ONE of the two liscence plate bulbs out they said they would have to fail me because of it or they could replace it, I told them just go ahead and replace it (not asking how much the bulb was) They charged me 10.50 for a licsence plate bulb 1 for 1 buld there killin me in this state LOL.

It's not the state killin you on that one, that was the inspection station. I think the prayer for judgment lasts 3 years. I don't remember right off the top of my head because it's been like 10 years since I got one.

In Michigan, if you can get it reduced to "Impeding Traffic" there are no points to the license....and no insurance informed.

Find out for sure what your state will allow, and plead to a lesser charge; one that won't infer points. It is worth the time spent in research not to pay those extra insurance premiums
