We've got leather in our other cars, but got cloth in the mustang. It's primarily my son's car, and cost was an issue. But in many respects cloth is a superior seating surface for automobiles--warmer in winter and cooler in summer. So, there's no need to apologize for cloth. FWIW, Ford makes extremely durable cloth seating, so your seats should last as long . . . or longer . . . than leather would. I'd suggest that you apply some sort of fabric protectant, like Scotchguard, which will help your seats repel dirt and liquids.
If you really feel the need for covers, I'd opt for sheepskin--it looks great, is washable, and enhances comfort considerably by allowing air circulation and distributing seating pressure more evenly (it's what's used in many airline cockpit seats, for these very reasons). I just bought a nice set from
www.calcarcover.com (California Car Cover Company) for my VW, which has leather seats. Custom sets run from about $289 (center inserts for front buckets) to almost $500 for full custom-fitted covers for two seats. They have a variety of colors. If this is too much, they also make custom-fitted covers in other materials for less.
