my shaker is a shanker!!!

well its been 2 weeks since ive gotten my gt and the cd players s**t the bed . itermitent problems . hope the dealership can fix. if they cant wouldnt it be nice if they would give $ back for the shanker 1000. lol

I agree, the system is pretty lame. Terrible quality. I wish mine didn't come with it. I'm going to have the dealer replace mine for the SECOND time. http://www.allfordmustang.com/forums...milies/mad.gif

I didn't get the shaker, but I thought about it. But the stock system was loud enough for me.

Not trying to be a jerk, but..

my shaker 500 6 disc S**T the bed on the morning of a 9 hour road trip, and didn't get fixed until after i got back, (18 hours of driving with no cd player). that was back in november, so far the new one still works....

Also had a shaker 1000 replace here (last Tuesday in fact), looking at a second replace as the first didn't seem *right*, wasn't until went to drive at night that we realized none of the backlights work. Did the self test on the unit and it failed, but will the dealership order a new unit based on what we're telling them? Nooo...we have to bring it in so they can see for themselves.
I miss my old dealership and service writer who knows how to take care of customers.

I as well have had my Shaker 500 replaced twice. The first time for the cd skipping problem. They ordered it and installed it and sure enough the cd skipping seemed to go away. BUT lo and behold I as well had the no back light problem and I bet angeluke if you tried the A.M. stations you would have found they would not tune. I asked if the installer if he reprogrammed the radio after he installed it and they looked at me like I was from Mars. The tech said all he does is plug it in and gave me the shrug

. I informed him that for $27,950 he needed to read the proper installation procedures for the Shaker 500 or just give me back my money and we will call it even. Thankfully the service rep stepped and apologized and insured me that a new radio was on order. While I had it in to paint the panel between the tail lights they replaced my radio and reprogrammed it and poof no more problems.

Not to be rubbing it in but I guess Im one of the lucky ones. I got my GT in April and it has a mid-Jan build date and have yet to have a problem with my Shaker 1000 system. Now Ive got to cross my fingers and hope I dont jinx myself:thumbsup

I too am one of the lucky ones. My Shaker 500 has not skipped, reversed, cut off the last few seconds of anything.

I do know what you all are going through, my naighbor has has nothing but trouble with his shaker 500 CD player. Instead of replacing it, he hooked his IPOD to it.

For those of you who are having issues, is there a faceplate made for replacement decks?
