The dealer tell's me my car was built on May 30th and should come either this week or next . Anyhow I want to put on two stripes right away(either 10 or 12 inch, have'nt yet decided) and after having seen how nice 05SilverBullet's Satin Silver stang looked with Mineral Grey stripes I was going to do the reverse and have Satin Silver stripes on my Mineral Grey. However the more Mineral Grey stangs I see the more I am starting to doubt my choice, Mineral Grey is a rather odd color in that it seem's to change hue significantly based on lighting conditions, I've noticed at times it almost look's brown . I did want to avoid going to black stripes as I don't want to seem like an Elenaor wannabe but I am starting to think black may be the only option, if I did go black I think I would switch to the three stripe pattern as that would probably look tough.
I am lousy with colors, I was probably one of those preschool kids that ate his glue and sniffed his paint . Any input as to stripe color choice (Satin Silver, light grey, black, or white are the four colors I have considered)and two or three stripe pattern would be muchly appreciated.

There is a sticky thread called 2005 mustang paint striper. Go to the first page and look for message #19 from dave 02GT. The previous link in the thread does not work. Use the paint striper to see what various colors would look like on your Mineral Grey.

if you could, keep us(me)posted on how your stang is doing. im picking mine up on the 27th (gt, mineral gray, 5 speed, iup) and after reading about some of the problems people are having im getting a little nervous. 1st new car ever. spent 6 months in Iraq to buy it and just dont want the hassle of problems or at least be preparred for what might come. hopefully the problems people had a few months ago (gas tanks, popping) have been addressed!

Thanks 2k5GTC for the input but I have played with the stripe painter many times already. While the stripe painter is a great and fun tool it does not replicate the way Mineral Grey shifts under different light.

I'm partial to the black stripes http://www.cardomain.com/ride/830447, but like you said you have several choices on how you want to do them. I think the three stripe pattern would look very good.

I have Mineral Grey with the Silver stripes... I went back and forth between black and silver and finally decided on the silver... I love how they turned out! I am glad I went with the silver! Here's mine:
There have been many pros and cons about paint vs. vinyl, but for mine, I’ve decided on vinyl (dealer indicated i will void factory paint warranty if i painted). So if i like, I’ll paint it after warranty is off. Anyway, what i want to say is I’m going to look at and try a clear smoked vinyl. I think there are 2 - 3 tints; this will show the original metallic density through the stripe while giving it a noticeable color difference. Worth a look.
P.S. Picking it up this P.M.

I kick my butt every day for letting this go!
If all you're worried about is looking like the Eleanor paint scheme, don't. MG looks nothing like the charcoal grey used on Eleanor.
I would go with the black. Check out this guys MG w/ black LeManns stripes. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index....cmd=si&img=112
Paint on a new Ford is covered for one year, unconditionally and for the remaining 2years and up to 36,000 miles on defects in product or workmanship. If we PAINT a car the portion that is unpainted is guaranteed for the normal period but the part that is PAINTED AND CLEARCOATED is guaranteed for 7 years unlimited miles.
Without opening Pandora’s box, if you search online, you will find that you can’t VOID a warranty on a new vehicle ACROSS THE BOARD except for TAXI or RACE use. I don’t know what the situation is in Canada…but I doubt it’s much different.
