Default Question on X pipes

Hello everyone! My name is David and back in 2003 I bought a brand new Mustang GT. Since then I have just done some small things to it. I place a Flowmaster cat back exhaust with the 40 series mufflers on it. Now Im looking to put on an X pipe but I don't know which one to go with ( Bassani, Mac, BBK) and do I lose the cats or keep them? Also for those of you that have an X pipe how much does it change the sound? I would like to draw attention but not from the police! If anyone could help that would be great

I would get a Bassani X pipe because it's the best quality and
performance pipe in your list.I would also think about getting
some Nitto 555 tires as we'll to help your traction alot.I have
the Bassani X pipe with cats and the Flowmaster two chamber
american thunder 40 series catback just like you and it sounds
wonderfull and perfect together.
I would subjest getting your Bassani X pipe with converters though.
The sound is a nice muscle car sound and it is quite loud and
somewhat deep.I have drove past cops in the past and I even idled
in traffic right next to a cop and I never got pulled over for my exhaust
being to loud. Not one cop ever even asked about my exhaust set up
either.I got a great deal on my Bassani X pipe with converters at
www.allmustang.com I think I will pass my savings along to you my
friend.Plus this place has excellent customer service and they are pleasant
on the phone also. Welcome to AFM :thumbsup

The Bassani X pipe is a great mid pipe to get. Also the Bassani X pipe
is far better quality than Mac or BBK.I think I may just get a set of
Nitto's when my old gatorbacks start to wear a little more.:thumbsup

bassani x pipes are very good. They make 2 types, stainless and aluminum. The aluminum is much more afordable but it is aluminum, and the stainless can get kinda pricey.... depending on your budget. I just recently bought a magnaflow x pipe with cats from highhorseperformance.com and i couldnt be happier. I can't compare it to bassani since i did not have both. However, from most people i talked to, it seems that the magnaflow is of very good quality (it is stainless) and a little more afordable than bassani. It is also a good pipe wich performs well. Just figured i would give you another option.

BTW: i have the magnaflow catback and magnaflow x pipe, and ever since i got the x pipe on (maybe 2-3 weeks ago) i have had countless people on the road giving me thumbs up etc... The other day a trans am ws6 pulled up next to me and told me my car sounded great. Do some research but the only two companies i would ever recommend for an x pipe would be bassani or magnaflow, so you would be happy with either.

If u get an offroad x pipe its gonna get WAY louder. I was very afraid to drive mine at first but have never been pulled over and i got over it. I dont drive mine daily tho. I have the mac offroad x and i like it, just gotta get different mufflers to go with it. Now i want some slps to go with my x! If they keep echeck in ohio i am prolly gonna go with a catted h tho. Otherwise ill keep my mac. BTW where in ohio are u?

Default Bassani catted X

If you have strict emissions where you live, get a catted X. I got my Bassani used and it sounds great with my Flow Series 40s. It has a nice rumble down low, but screams at WOT. Definitely worth the money to have a great sounding Mustang.

I bought my 2003 GT with a couple of mods. One was 3" pipes and a MAC exhaust (at least that's what I can see printed on the mufflers). The car sounds really good on the outside - not too loud, not too smooth. On the inside it's a little different story. When I romp on it, the decibel level gets pretty darn high especially between 2000 and 2500 rpms.

I haven't had the inclination to drag myself completely under the car to check it out, but I'm thinking x-pipe or something else is under there. Anyone know where I can find some stock undercarriage pictures so I can get an idea of everything that's been played with?
