Well I tend to get into races about 1/2 the time on my way home from work.. so here's another one...
On my way home on a major road near my house, i see fog lights comin up behind me real hard... I notice the z28 (newer one) loud as hell - must've just been a catback... but he goes and I go.. he starts creepin up on me (I started in mid 3rd gear) at about 110... and we catch a red light before he can pass me... we get at the light and as soon as we get there the light hits a green, and we both slam it... I took off by 2 car lengths or so... and maintained 3/4 - 1 car length of em until he had to break because a car was coming up... but by that time I was already doin 100+ and in 4th gear... yeah, he wasn't to happy... http://www.mustangforums.com/image/s1.gif

Dude it's nice that you got him and all but 100+ on the street is dumb. You're either gonna get busted or get someone hurt or killed doin that.

yeah it is... but I am careful of where I do that... in a straight line and only if nobody is in front of me, and typically in either the left or middle lane this way nobody can pull out in front of me... or atleast it's harder... later at night on a road where cops normally aren't there... but street racing is dangerous regardless of what speed you're going... only thing you can do is try to be as safe as possible...

HOLY COW (my 3 year old daughter's favorite saying), you started in 3rd at 110!!! That is just sick. I agree with you Bluestreak, its just stupid, but when you get caught up in the moment, it hard to resist! We have all been there, I guess the stronger man backs off, I wish I had that kind of will power!
I don't really think of it as will power anymore. It's more the will to survive. I've got 19 speeding tickets (none for racing) the only thing my wife said after the last one was the next one will be accompanied by divorce papers.

Holy cow, 19 speeding tickets!!! I hear you man, but your getting a S/C, GOOD LUCK!!! I do envy you though. I had about 10 tickets from 16-20 years old, but in the past 7 years I have only had one, and YES, it was in the stang. Funny story though, I bought the stang and may dad said I would have a ticket within the first 2 weeks. I had one in the second week, but it was for doing the same stuff I did in my Explorer, 80 on the highway. The fuzz also gave me a ticket for tint, which I got from the dealership, 33%. haven't had one since, knock on wood!!!

Dude, get a radar detector! Escort Passport is good. And if you've already got one, open your eyes when you drive. You just might see the cop before he clocks you.

My first 10 tickets were gotten with a detector. I'm not too worried about it anymore. The last 3 tickets I've gotten were no license / no insurance points tickets, just a fine. The last one was an absolute accident too. I knew the speed limit dropped but I missed the first sign with the lower limit and the cop was sitting right beside the second one, thankfully I had already started to slow down.

I may not know much about cars, but are those the only mods you have on your car xxKazp3rxx? because if they are I don't think you took down an ls1, maybe an lt1 but not an ls1. But regardless, good kill.
