This thread brings a smile. I'm with what I take for the majority on this. Rice? What rice, I don't see no rice.
There's no replacement for displacement.
Just a little "soap boxing". I'm dispappointed when I see a Ford/Chevy/Dodge with a Calvin whizzin on one of the other two. Hey, c'mon, if Calv needs to go, let him go on a Mitsu, Honda, Toyo, Subu...
A popular "Bike" saying: "I'd rather push my Harley than ride a Honda".

Arriving in LAX late one evening several years ago, the renta-car lady smiles and hands me the keys to a nice Mitsu. The day was 7 Dec. I don't think so.
OK. off the soap box and back to work.

i usually say " at the next light ill tell you how you looked in my rear veiw mirror" and i do carry rice but dont throw it at their car cause i think messing w/ other ppl cars is mad disrespect i simply pour a cup of rice next to them and say: "these were others who tried but failed"

i guess i should of said throwing the rice at them but not hitting the car (because im sure they would be ready to fight) but on the road in their direction. Im sure some would still be ready to fight.

When a ricer revs his engine at me I just pull the flyswatter from under my seat and swat in his general direction.

Most of them get the idea. Some of them just get really confused.

Nothin like giving Mustang owners a bad name is there? My daily driver is a Geo Metro...that's right! 993cc of screaming fury! I drive the frick outa this car! Now, it isn't your typical Metro. Swift GT seats, Recaro knockoffs. Swift upper wing. Short shifter...adapted from a Honda. 10 degree advanced timing sprocket. Custom wheels and wide tires. Front and rear stabilizer bars from it's turbo cousin and a full complement of strut bars. Everyone laughs until I fill up the gas tank....yeas, 16 bucks fills it FULL. Daily driver, that will pull more 'Gs' than 90% of the Mustangs out there and it gets over 43MPG! I drive 350+ miles a week just to work and back. Now, saving that money lets me spend it on a TRUCK that will beat 90% of Mustangs in a strait line! Sure, some Ricers have been completely screwed up by owners that couldn't find their own AZZ with both hands, but you ARE NOT advancing your status in the rather HUGE automotvive world by putting down other folks cars I've seen more than a few Mustangs that shame the name and so have YOU! At the track, we might talk a little trash, but real men in REAL cars...or trucks...compete at the track where winning is documented and ONLY then can one really brag about their car. Respect for others will go a whole lot farther than talking trash and then not backing it up. My favorite saying to Ricers....MAN, you did a lot of work! Then I name more mods they will get more performance from and THEN I make a FRIEND that has as much respect for me as I gave them. LIFE is like THAT!

Tom - there's a differance between a ricer and a tuner... You describe a tuner... not a ricer..

Wink

Maybe I'm old school, but I was living down the term from my first motorcycle. I've not read the latest sperm fest on where the term came from. No need, as 99% of you haven't a clue where the term came from.

It is deragotory now as then and meant to be so. You make no friends calling names.

YEA! I'm using IE instead of Firefox and my Smileys work!

Tuner is someone that does it right.. Rice rocket/crotch rocket = sport bike... "ricer" - the idiot with a civic hatch, 1,000 stickers, a blue spray painted fire extinguiser w/NOS sticker on it, body kit and neons with a 4" exhaust tip saying he dyno's at 360hp
