Finally got a S197 to race me!

on my way home I got into it with a Stage 2 Roush Convert S197... I've been wanting to measure up to these 05+ GT's for a while now... now, I don't know exactly how much differance the Stage 2 is from a GT - maybe someone could educate me... but we went 3-4 times from a 50mph roll... and to my surprise I just left him... It wasn't even close - I started 1/4 car behind him, and almost instantly jumped 3/4 of a car in front, and just kept getting further ahead. I know it could be a "bad driver" - but with a roll race, there really isn't much driver error there could be, in my opinion - nothing short of a missed gear, but not on 3 times... anyone know what these things have in em special besides a body kit?

As far as I know the stage II is basically a GT with body kit and suspension, but I could be wrong as well. Good kill regardless!

that's what i found out... but still I beat him pretty handily... Those cars are still running a mid 13... I wonder what i'll run - if i actually launched good at the track, find out sooner then later - hopefully...

haha that's cute Jeb... When he slowed down to ask me what he should do to his car to make it faster because he was stock - I think that shows he was racing

, maybe my car is just faster?... im in tampa too, maybe we can meet up and give it a go >: ).. haha.

dammit carguy - i have to work err... I tried for 3 wks to get you to go but you didn't so *** YOU!! haha... I work at this thing called a Bank and if i call off my team gets slammed with work - so I really can't unless I have to. Oh, and those things called sick days, I really need to save too.

Do you know if it was an automatic or not? Manual has 3.55 gears auto has 3.31
It makes a biggg differance

From what I understand the stage II roush comes with a body kit and suspension, and side port exhaust. thats it. NO S/C, no large gears in the rearend - a bone stock gt made to look pretty. Good kill. Just wait till I get back to tampa though, u ,me and carguy going to have to go track and run some times!!!

Roush doesn't do side exhaust anymore. But yeah, they're identical to stock in terms of engine performance.

Its 10 to get in and 10 to race, so 20 bucks gets you a night from 6pm to 11pm of as many races as you can get in (long ass lines).

Modular Madness is the shop i go near by, i believe its 75 bucks for 2 dyno pulls with a wideband to Monitor A/F mixture.

Race Related in Clearwater runs 3 pulls for 65 bucks..

It's hard for me to get down to the track unfortunatly.. I might go by Sunshine in St Pete one of these nights... ill try to get a shift trade @ work we can all go down there

I don't know whether or not it was auto or not, he looked like he was shifting, but I really couldn't tell if he was or not... and yes you're right that's a HUGE differance... but i dont know why he'd be shifting @ 70ish? loll... his car didnt blow up, so i dont think he was if it was auto... but who knows? lol... and the Stage 2 is a body kit, with all the roush suspension - which isn't bad suspension by any means.. it is, what it is...
