And, IMO those 4.10's may wake up your car, but they'll also kill the tranny and motor faster. You'll be putting more stress on the motor driving around at higher rpms and the tranny will be having to shift a lot more and take more stress. 3.73 is the limit you should go with a 2v motor.
thats why u get a tranny cooler - the best investment on a car with gears

Man,

I posted this thread about 8 months ago and it has surfaced again to my surprise.

Since I posted this thread, I have had a few mods done to my car. I have had the JLT True Cold Air Kit installed, which actually helped the performance of my car. I could feel more power and pull from my car at higher rpms from the JLT. I had the Accufab 70mm t/b & intake plenum installed and I could not feel much difference from that mod. Now just recently, I had the 4.10 FRPP gears installed with the SCT Xcalibrator 2 custom tune. The 4.10 gears definitely woke my auto up and it is quicker now, but I think that is too much gear for a street car if you never take it to the track. The tires spin so easily now and I rev about 3,000 rpms when I am doing 80mph on the freeway. I was doing 50mph the other day and I floored it and the tires just spun laying some rubber on the street. I know many people say don't fear the gear but I think it revs too high with those gears in a 4 speed. Maybe if I get stickier tires it won't be so bad for the wheel spin and I'll enjoy the 4.10 gears more. I will definitely need to drop to 3.73 gears if I get a s/c in a year or two.

I would just like to add something that I believe. If companies like Vortech, and Kenne Bell knew that by using their product your engine would blow, and after years of blowing engines people would just not buy a S/C at all then you would never see a Vortech or KB ever again. But seeing that they sell their products with confidence that by adding their S/C you will have a safe product for power and have the rush for as long as you drive the car. I live in the Orlando area and it seems as though tuners around here like the Evo's the STI's, things of that sort rather than someone coming in there with a Mustang with a blower. My 2 cents.

That is true, but who would know their engines better? Ford or Kenne Bell? There's a REASON why Ford doesn't put a supercharger on a aluminum block, but puts it on a cast-iron block. Again, I am not saying that you can't put a SC on a aluminum block, you just won't get the durability of a cast iron block. That's probably the main reason why Ford will NULL your engine warranty if you strap on a aftermarket supercharger. My 3 cents.

good luck with your car man just remember if you add air you must add fuel and you must have the support before the extra power.
