I come up to a light at an intersection and a newer trans am pulls up two lanes over. The thing has t tops and but it wasnt a fast model of the trans am. Hes got rims and he looks over at my car. He looks at me and rev's his engine. He must of not had a muffler on the car, cuz it sounded like hammered ****. I had my window down and I started laughing so hard at this guy. He looked at me all offended, by I couldnt stop. I honestly think the way it sounded it was probably a kit. It looked like it was frshly painted, but it didnt have a throaty sound, it just sounded horrible. So my light turns green and I begin to pull away so I shift into N and I redline the car. He looked at me then put his head down in shame. This is a kill story without having to smoke the guy. Just the sound of my car scared the guy, he must have not let the pair drop yet.

See, I did that once.. and burned the guy - tried that again, not knowing it was a cammed LS1... and i'll never do it again. lol, but I don't think i've ever heard a LS1 exhaust that i've liked in all honesty.

Then it must have been a V6. There are basically 3 models, the Trans-Am, The Formula and V6. The Formula is basically the Trans-Am without alot of the moldings and in some cases no AC, power windows or any of the extra weight of the TA.
A late model TA would wouldve pulled you fairly easily. Even with the crappy sounding exhaust. lol
+1 w/stonecold - if i was in the T/A i'd have rolled my window down and said "yeah my exhaust sucks, but i bet i beat your ass like a red headed stepchild!"

it was a trans am - i saw him again yesterday. I dont care if I get my ass beat, i raced a vette c ouple of months ago with no chance in hell of winning. its all about the race.

it isnt about winning, any schmuck can race to win. Its about punching the gas getting kicked back in your seat, looking for cops, going fast, having fun. Winning is a bonus, a biproduct, going fast is the kicker - however dont get me wrong I enjoy both immensely

See I do that just when I have the bug in my arse... The reason I only enter races on the street i think i can win is that thing called getting arressted for street racing. If im just being an a**hole, I just get a ticket. If i race a car i have no ability to beat and get caught, I get read my rights... lol BIG DIFFERANCE.

Out here in AZ, that crap dont happen. lots of back roads and street racing - dont get me wrong the cops are out but u r more inclined to see them prior to getting pulled and being able to make a quick adjustment ie flipping a *****, slowing down, or speeding up and seeing if they follow you, if I was back in FL I wouldnt pull half the **** I do out here!

Most Ls1's dont sound as good as mustangs 5.0 or 4.6. But dont laugh at one unless you got the ability to back it up. When a bolton (373's,tb,upper plenum, cai, full exhaust)03 Gt loses to a stock 01 SS By 3 lengths Thats not a laughing matter. its embarrassing. (2 of my buds) And oh yeh My best friend has a 03 cobra, he has the ported eaton, boltons, all that **** anyways it made 509rwhp. He raced a 02 SS full boltons, 4.10s , and a cam making 407 rwhp and my buddy with the snake let off at 110 and was up by 2 lengths. 100 more hp to the ground and won by 2 lengths!!!!!!!!!! ( should also throw in My bud says he was granny shifting tho.) LS1's can be nasty with little effort Bud! I mean im not saying i want one because i want something that i can go out it cranks everyday and thats the reason i will always be a blue oval guy. But to answer the question no i havent ever laughed at a trans am which by the way trans am = V8, firebird formula= V8, firebird =V6. To be honest with my mods and if i had ur mods on a vehicle similar to yours i wouldnt be stupid enough to rev at one, he probably wasnt holding his head down in shame he was probably holding it down laughing at you. He was probably thinking the same thing you were about your car, you ever think about that?
