Default cams , how much to install?

Im thinking about ordering a set of vt stage 2 cams. was wondering about how much it would cost to have them installed and my car tuned?

If you go with the stage 2 then your going to have to change your springs also. The labor on the spring is going to cost you a lot and the springs themselves are about $200. I would just go with stage 1 cams if your heads are stock. I got a couple quotes on installing cams ranging from $600-$1200 in labor. It also depends on where your engine came from because they sell a special cam removing tool for the Winsor block I believe. I would just save up and get fully assembled heads with cams in them for around $1600-$2000. That way you have better heads and the springs are already upgraded and you also have the bigger cam already in them.

I have put two different sets of cams in mine. But both times my engine was out of the car. Put I dont really think it should cost that much more to put springs in. You better take it to someone you trust and know they will do a good job. Because the first person who put my cams in got it off timing and broke a valve off in the cylinder. But he said a rod bolt broke and made the piston hit the vavle so it ended up costing me a lot more, because I could not prove what he did. I dont kow about vt's but comp cams stage 1 I could not even tell I had cams and the stage 2 you can tell but its not totally hitting a lick. But the stage 1 cams performed better overall.
