Default Aftermarket Hood Quality and Pricing

I have been looking at two choices of hoods for my GT. The first was the Ram Air type 2 Hood by Cervini. I have heard a few good things about this company and their quality.

The other hood I was looking at is all over the internet, but here is where I am specifically looking at it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fiber...QQcmdZViewItem

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the quality on these hoods. I don't want a hood that will crack, fly off, or have fitment issues.

I really like the ram air hood the best, but it is pretty high at $450+shipping when I can go pick up the ebay hood as it is pretty close to me. Does anyone know where I can get that ram air hood cheaper, or at least a supplier that is within a few hundred miles of indiana?

personnally I like the svo cobra hood. It might be because I have that hood. It looks real good and you should be able to see it in my pics. Or go to my web page and look at it. Mine as had no cracks or anything and has been on for about 6 or so years. Good prep. and paint will make a hood last.

Ya that guy might not sell the hood without shipping it because he is making money on the shipping because he doesn't have to pay anything for the shipping amount to e-bay. 145 to ship is pretty high. All hoods look good if it goes along with the rest of your car so just pick what you like, or the one with the best deal that you still like.

Cervinis hood for the win. I decided the other hood was a little too ricey the more I thought about it.

Now I just need to save up the money before the car gets painted.

Default MrBodykit

I just purchased a Mach1 hood for my 2003GT from MrBodykit.
I want to paint the hood accordingly and I have a question that needs to be answered before I paint.

On the early (71-73) Mach1's the center of the hood was painted black. Was it flat black, or a gloss black?

My car is Shadow Grey, so the introduction of another color is going to look sweet.

I bought the Cervinis 95 Cobra R hood and the quality and fit were A-1.

with the money you save on a cheaper hood you will have to pay more for the prep, stay with a quailty supplier
