When in doubt, wave anyway! (Unless you're in gangbanger land )
I will usually raise my hand in salute of another Mustang I see on the road, regardless of the year. I won't always get acknowledgement in return, but when I do, it's great. Makes my day!
That being said, it's rather sad and depressing that so few drivers will acknowledge the others on the road, much less that they have a right to be there as well. I'd like to think that Mustanger's have a better understanding of that, but I'm not so sure, anymore.

Here in Maryland at the beach the town holds a cruzin event twice a year. Lots of American muscle cars and the Ford and Chevy fans practically cheer for their respective brands. The street (Coastal Hwy) will have hundreds of people lining the sidewalks. I get alot of thumbs up and waves. Must be the sea air and being on vacation that puts people in a good mood. I do see how waving at every stang that goes by would get old. As the post title states I do not think Mustang owners are snobs. Local groups put together Pony rides all the time. The other day I even had a couple of cute chicks in a Fox Box smile and say nice ride.

Default Southern Thang....LOL

I agree with Backnblack, in the South pretty much everyone is friendly and waves about 75% of the time.

I dont care what type car, truck, motorcycle it is, what size engine it has or any of that stuff, if its nice clean unique or different and looks like they take care of it and have pride in it then I will wave for sure just to let them know it got my attention.

I have literally turned around to go back and look at cars, trucks, motorcycles etc. that are nice and talk to the owner about them.

I havent found a person yet whether young, old, ricer, muscle car, biker or otherwise that wasnt willing to talk about their vehicle if you are complimenting it or expressing interest in their choice of modifications.

Also one of my favorite philosophies is:
"Not everyone you meet can help you, but everyone you meet can hurt you" so be nice...

I've tried this around town as well. Only got the wave back when I let a guy in a clean, nice-looking fox body out into traffice ahead of me (he was leaving a Taco Bell). OK, I guess. Still smiling at being one of the chosen few - Mustang drivers.

yeah i here ya! i try wave at all the other mustangs out there, but no wave backs. i had this POS saturn pull up to me the other day, this thing was running rough though...i mean white/blue smoke coming out the back and a hard knock at iddle. i found it very funny actually, the guys was like "man nice car, light up the tires" i said no thats alright. and of course when the light turned green i just had to blow past him , just to make him really want a new car..lol

i think people wont wave cause they think you just wanna race, or they just assume that thier car is so much better than yours that they dont care

Today I drove about 90 miles total. I crossed paths with about 8 or 9 Mustangs. I waved to every one of them and only two waved back (actually, one of them waved first).

I think that many Mustang owners just think their car is a car. They aren't drawn to the sight of a fellow Mustang driver. That could be why.

Believe it or not, but some of them don't even know they're driving a Mustang. I knew a kid from college who had a early '80s fox-body Mustang. He didn't even know it was a Mustang. All I could say is "WTF"

I have to agree that most v6er's around here are a$$holes. I usually get the finger from them when they hear my car haha. Oh well though.

But the v6ers around here have nothing on the S197 Owners. I think this is the only place where I know people that are thankful and enjoy every mustang. The S197 owners around here (excluding Pumpdoc) are snobby as hell thinking their car is better than everyone elses. I mean, I feel for them because they got some mustang pride but honestly, when I see an S197 owner that gives me the finger because I wave to them it's making me not want to get a newer mustang eventually, because I don't want to become snobby haha.

Classic mustang owners are the best though. The worst comment I've received from them about my car is "I hate fuel injection" haha. Another reason why I'm buying a classic

I give the thumbs up to well done or well kept mustangs, mustangs that look like they're being mistreated or are getting no TLC I would like to give the finger just because in my opinion, they're either disrespecting the mustang (a dirty car usually means a person that doesn't care) or they don't know any better.

Cool

I wave if only waved to. Why? I am driving! I ride a motorcycle. Sometimes I get waved and sometimes I do not.

The best place to hook up is at mustang rallys. We have a place in Nashville, TN. That is the best place to meet mustang guys/gals. For the most part, ls1 owners are more stuck up snobs. How I know? I used to be their club. Most were wealthy, and came from well to do homes. Nothing wrong with it, just not the friendliness people.

Mustang guys are more the shy type. Alot of introverted mustangs owners. That does not make them stuck up, or snobs just shy

Me I will wave if waved to, unless I am concentrating on driving! Then sorry I missed ya!

Rich

Massholes hahahahah. I live in CT - 1 mile from the MA line. I hear "Massholes" all the time. CT drivers think they're God's gift to humanity (but most of them drive like idiots too)

I got a from a Mustang driver yesterday when I waved. It makes you smile.

I don't like getting the finger- I usually get that when I wave to a Mustang that is older, quieter, or dirty. And I forget who said that V6 owners flip the bird a lot, but you're right. I've noticed that many more V6 owners flip me off than GT owners. That's not to say V6 owners are snobs though.

But, take a step back and you'll realize that ALL drivers are that way. Wave to a random person and I bet they'll give you a nasty look instead of waving back.

where I live, all the pople that own newer mustangs won't wave. I usually wave and recieves friendly waves back from people with older ones (2000-lower) but for some reason the people with anything newer seem to think they're the ****.

I agree with dawrr. Most people, especially v6 owners, just have a means of transportation with their mustang, and I guess that's what people think my car is. And yeah, alot of sixer owners are a bit big headed around here. There's a few v6 stangs at my school, and all their friends want to drive it because it's such a fast car..right..I have pride for my car but I don't show it off as something it's not. Though one day on my way to school at 7 in the morning, a guy in a same gen. cobra gave me a thumbs up. Made my morning.

I usually get the comment from car people at the gas station. They either recognize the BULLITT and want to know if it is authentic, or they see that it is different, but are not really sure why.
