Default Which gear 373 or 410

I got a 96 triple black 5 speed drop top that is pretty much stock. I'm looking at either a 410 or 373 gear. I'd like to have the 410, but what kind of rpms are we talking at 70mph?

With a 16 inch rim and T5 transmission, you're looking at about 2250 RPM with a 3.73 and 25-2600 with a 4.10 gear.

With a Stock 96 Vert you are going to need all the help you can get as far as getting it off the line , I would go no less the 4.10`s !

just consider all factors... i did mine 373s for daily driver..... later on when i get out of college and i get a beater.... the rear will be 430 gears with 31spline axles and the works.

should he not have the t-45 in his car? And I would think that the 4.10's would help your car out more since it is going to be some what heavier being a vert.

I'm not sure. I thought the early SN95's still came with a T5. Not saying I can't be wrong, but that's what I believe. 4.10's would help out more. But as with anytime the gear topic comes up, it's a highly subjective decision and not one a whole bunch of people need to start shouting that this gear or that gear is the perfect gear for his purpose. It's up to him. All we should do is present facts about cruising RPMs and things of that nature.

True on the only giving facts. But some people like to know what other people like. He might even already know which gear he wants but would like to see if everybody else thinks the same. I think the 94 and 95 models did have the t-5. I dont think either gear would be perfect. In the future if he steps up on some hp he might think it to low and want 3.73's.

Don't get the 4.10's if you plan on supercharging or using some other power adder!
