Default 06 mustangers are driving a 35% ricer jap car

Short article:
In May, in the midst of the Ford Motor Co.'s "Red, White & Bold," buy-American ad campaign touting its classic Mustangs, the research firm CSM Worldwide (using statistics from the U.S. Department of Transportation) revealed that 35 percent of the 2006 Mustang's content came from overseas, and in fact, that five Honda models and seven Toyota models contained more U.S. content that the Mustang, including Toyota's Sienna minivan, which was 90 percent U.S.

What is american made?

In a global economy dont expect to even eat american meat, that applies too, to other countries with open markets. Is that bad? i dont think so, it results in lower prices for the consumer, or at least thats what it is all about. If the Mustang or any other "American" car was entirely US made, most probably would cost more.

I think everyone pretty much knows that. Any 2005-2006 Mustang owner should know that thier motor was made in germany... it says it right on the engine and in the owners manual.

I think what is most important here is that American Car companies have a different style compared to foriegn car companies.

And I dont think its ricer jap car either...

I'm sorry to say but, The Modular V-8 production engine plant is in: Romeo, Michigan, the old Ford tractor plant outside of Detroit. and in Windsor, Ontario, produces the 4.6 and 5.4 SOHC engines for trucks. The 4 bangers are built in Germany...for Mazda3/Ford Escort.

The comparisons between supporting jobs blows away the argument.

""Seems like every automaker these days claims their cars are 'Made in America.' But the truth is, U.S. automakers still employ 8 out of every 10 autoworkers. Four times more than all the automakers from Japan, Korea and Europe combined,""
