Exclamation horsepower questions

is it possible to build a 4.6l N/A motor to 340HP at the wheels without a power adder or internal modifications? i think it will be more of a challenge and i want to beat a local GTO owner that whoop me the other day by 2.5 lengths.

I cant see you doing it unless you get ported heads and some new cams. You should be up there then. Or for half the price get about 100 wet shot of nitrous and smoke him.

that would be damn hard to do. Your might think about a power adder, that would be WAY cheaper.

There's no way you can reach over 290 without cracking into the motor itself, at lesat for cams, springs and maybe rockers. Even then if you get too wild with cams you have to switch over to flycut pistons. A full bolt on car, including cams that are still streetable, CAI, full exhaust w/ long tube headers, throttle body, plenum, pulleys and any other bolt on you can think of and a tune for 93 Octane fuel isn't going to get near 340 without at least a small shot of N2O or mild boost.
