Default 97 GT fuel mileage

I just thought I would share my good gas mileage I got today in my 97 GT. I filled up before I left and it was over 100* with the heat index so I had the air on Max cool the whole time. I drove between 75-80 mph the whole way and didn't go WOT at all (that was hard BTW). On the way back I briefly went 95 passing some semi but then went back down to about 78. Ok so here's the good part I went 94 miles and filled up when I got home and it only took another 3.6 gallons. So thats about 26.1 mile per gallon, and I figure about 10 miles of the trip was in city. If you think about it a trip that used to cost less than $5 now cost me $11. BTW at 77-79 mph I was at 2500 rpm or a little over.

Not bad at all. I never did check my stang as it wasnt a daily driver except for the first 6 months. I know my 99 saturn kicked ass with gas. I thought this car i have now would be in between but so far it doesnt seem so.

Worse, but i also did alot of in town driving, more then i usually do just to show people when i got it so maybe its not as bad as i thought. It was def cheaper to fill up my saturn and last all week then this car which has to have premium all the time, but i usually added gas to the stang during the nice weather on the weekend so it almost evens up, i am spending a little more on gas tho, but i havent had a full week to test it on work yet so we will see.
