As some of you may recall, I purchased a wrecked 98 GT back in October of 05. I have been working at piecing it back together ever since. I FINALLY picked it up yesterday from the body shop at Jones Ford in Wickenburg AZ. Check out my albums, before, during and after the build!! Let me know what you think of the results.
Now come wheels, exhaust and a BLOWER. Like to tighten up the suspension too.
Although there is plenty left to do, it just feels good to have it back on the road again!! Put the fight back into the pony!

I'm finishing up a 89 notch myself. This has been one of the most satisfying projects of my life. I have more confidence with cars and feel good about doing a fair amount myself. Congrats on your project. I know you're proud and should be.

Where'd you get/ how much did you pay for the Cobra hood? I've always loved the snorkel look on that hood and thought about getting on for my 96 GT.
How big is Wickenburg? Before my dad passed away he had a travelling buddy from the old Air Force days that moved there. It looks like a pretty area.
I ordered the COBRA hood from Jones Ford. The owner is a good friend, as is the body shop foreman. I paid a little over $400. Be aware that the under hood blanket has been discontinued for the 98 Cobra, and it was tough to find one. Ended up getting it from a dealership in Washington State.
Wickenburg is really a small place. It is about an hour from Phoenix. There is probably a population of around 5K people. If you have the name, he would probably be fairly easy to locate, and I would be happy to help you with that.

The guy I purchased the BULLITT from is a very close friend. About a week after he sold it to me he really began missing it, and regreting the decision to sell it. As he is like a brother to me, and I can sure understand missing that machine, I unraveled the deal, and the BULLITT went back to him. One of my goals with my GT is to get it to handle and accelerate more like that BULLITT. I was in tall cotton with that car!!

I had an 89 fastback and really enjoyed it!! My dad had an 89 notch as a patrol car for a while. They are WONDERFUL machines and a lot of fun. You will really enjoy owning it.

Thanks for the hood info. I didn't realize the blankets were hard to find. My dad's friend was retired Air Force Vet Gary Poore. My dad retired from the Air Force in Omaha, NE and travelled with Gary after my mom died and before Gary moved to Wickenburg. It's not a big deal... had just never heard of Wickenburg aside from that connection.
Have a good one and thanks!
