To tint, or not to tint.

Well today I took off my old window tints (they were fading to like a greenish ugly color). Now that I look at the car, and can finally see into it from the outside, it doesn't look half bad. On the other hand, it doesn't look half bad with tints on it. Now I'm sure some of you are going to say 'its more of a personal choice', but I just want to hear some opinions about what you guys think looks better. with, or without tints. (I have a 96 gt coupe thats red). And if you do like tints, what % do you think would look alright ? Gracious amigos.

i have limo on my half glass and rears and 20% on the side windows.

Heres a pick of 5%....do a tint that people can't see you or inside. Anyway, get tint.

5% looks great, but I don't know if I can go that low down here in Florida, not sure if its legal.. probably not.. I was thinking more around 20% that way I can still see out at night.

Thats what my car looked like with the tints i had before (they were fading to like a green color, it looked terrible)

My GT has the factory tint, and I think it's perfect for the car.
My wife has tint on her V6, and it really looks sharp. I forget the %- I'll have to look it up...

Either way, it will look good!

5% will be illegal in any state. Its very illigal here in TX. All you have to do it pay the emissions guy 20 bucks extra and he will pass you for anything. I get past for 5% tint and no cats for just 20 a year. Its not that bad when you think about it. Just go with the look you want.

Definetly tint but, make sure you check with the regulations (laws) in your
state! They do vary from state to state. I've seen to many people
get cited for having their tint too dark, thus having to have them removed
and redone. Not too cheap. So better safe than broke!

go with tint. i have 35 percent red tint on my red GT. it gets a lot of attention at car shows.

Not to rag on you Nos, but i think that colored tint on any car looks dumb. I think it looks really mexicanish, cause all the mexicans have colored tint on their lowrider trucks down here in Texas. I also think it looks cheap.

I didn't know any Mustangs (New Edge, anyway) came with factory tint. There's the 'dot matrix' stuff at the top of the windshield and around the rear window, but, other than that, the windows in my GT are completely untinted (for now - I plan to get tint, eventually.) Did you buy yours new that way or is it possible a previous owner had the windows tinted? If it is a good tint job, it might be hard to tell. That piece of junk GTI I had for about a month had what I would have sworn was factory tint but the owner at a local tint shop looked at it and told me that it was aftermarket (I was curious because I thought it was kind of dark for a factory job.)

yeah my tint is starting get all bubbly and scratched. how can i take it off myself without scratching the glass? anyone know a good estimate at about how much itll cost to get it redone?
