Do the rest of you have seperation anxiety from your mustangs? My g/f makes fun of me for it, but i tried telling her, its not just me.(so dont let me down here guys). Like if you were to go out of town, would you rather pay a little more in gas money or use the money and get a rental? If your a two car family, but always prefer to drive the mustang? Or be sitting at denny's and ask for the window seat that puts you in direct sight of the mustang. Or be sitting there staring off into space and have her ask you what your thinking about, and tell her, its her ofcourse.(because really your thinking about how good those new rims would look). Is it just me?

Actually, I usually prefer to take my wife's car. She's got a pretty nice Mazda 6 and, while it's not the Mustang, it has decent 'get up and go', plus I'd just as soon not put as many miles on the Mustang.
Mostly, though, it's because she can't drive a stick shift, so if we take the Mustang there is no chance she could help drive. If we take her car, then she could drive if need be - just in case we stop to eat and I decide to have a beer or six. There are still some times when I want to take the Mustang - especially if we are just going for a drive to look at scenery (except when we are taking a drive offroad to look at scenery, then it has to be my Bronco II.)
I am missing my Mustang a little right now, though. It rained a lot last week, so I have been driving the Bronco II. Was going to get the Mustang out yesterday morning but the battery is dead (it has sat for longer periods without that happening, so I must have left something turned on.) Hopefully I will have time to hook up the charger this afternoon and get it 'juiced' again so that I can drive it tomorrow if it isn't raining.
I get the seperation anxiety all the time from both of them. When the 91 Vert I have was getting the Transmission replaced. I couldn't wait to get it back. It was nail bitting.
With the new one. I always park where I can see it. Sometimes I just go out to look at it. The hardest part is when my wife and I take her car on a trip. I am always thinking about driving one of the Mustangs.
I guess thats why I own two of them.

I get the seperation anxiety - I'm going home for xmas and it is a 2,000 mile drive and I might do it. I know that sounds crazy, but I got a buddy that has a 2003 Saleen and with 400 to the crank. He has been talking so much smack it might be worth a two day trip in order to come home and smoke his a$$ after I N20 the car. I always sit at the window - just to look at her as well as make sure she doesnt get stolen or messed with - Also when I go on business trips I hate parking her at a parking lot for a couple weeks - it sucks - when i get back she is all dirty and looking at me like asking me ,"Why? Why would you do this to me daddy?" I guess I'm a little nuts!

If it makes you feel betther, it's not just a 'guy' thing, either. I have to say that I do also have separation anxiety. When it's sitting in a parking lot where I can't monitor it, or sitting at the dealership overnight for warranty work, I have panic attacks. I just sit and think of all the BAD things that could happen to it out from under my watchful eye.
I'm the same way (if not just a little worse) when it comes to my 66 coupe. My boyfriend won't even go near it because he's afraid he'll accidentally touch it and leave a fingerprint, etc.... He worries about how I'd react if something happened to it.
I'm having similar problems right now because he's driving my F150...and already burned a hole in the backseat with a cigarette (there's $145 he doesn't have, but has already ordered the replacement cover). He knows to be careful and if he's not, he pays for it...
glad to know you guys and girls are the same way! I was never like this before the Mustang "bug" bit the Hell out of me! It is the best anxiety to have though, i dont know many "honda" guys this problem, lol.

I used to get the anxiety, but this whole divorce thing has cured me of that with the 'vert. I know it's not in the greatest of hands, but what can I do? However I get a HUGE childish grin on my face everytime I go to my parents house and see my 83. I immediately get the keys and fire her up. Last time home I actually took it out for a spin and stretched the legs.

so bluestreak did you ex get your 04 mustang? That has to suck if she did. I use to always think someone is around my car or going to do something to it, thats why I spent $620 on the security system from clifford it as the pager that alerts when soemone is close to it, it works about 1/2 mile away. But it still has the prioty senser that will make it go off when someone get about a 1/2 foot from the car. And my car has been setting at the shop since march, so I dont even remember how it feels to drive it anymore,LOL.

I don't, but only because my mustang was never a driver. It was a drag only car from teh beginning, so i never had the chance to get emotionally attached, LOL.
My car has been non running for 3 years now, with no end in sight

Not just u, That is so me If I can't see my baby I worry about

So rest assured your not alone

ME TOO!! The one that my wife hates is when I park out in the south 40. I HATE door dings. I HATE people that ding with doors. I NEVER take 2 spots as that invites keying, but I will park far enough out that there are not cars on both sides of me. There are usually 2 or 3 other obviously nice cars in the same area. I don't worry too much about them as they are obviously there for the same reason I am. She hates the walk. She tells me how rediculous I am. Now I usually drop her at the door or entrance to wherever we are, and then go park. She still tells me I am rediculous.

I always like parking next to the curbs in the parking lots as close as I can so the car that parks next to you is usually 4 or 5 feet away. Walking is good for ya, thats what I tell myself.
