They look a LOT like a Grand Prix, and there is NO WAY I would pay that kind of money for a glorified Grand Prix. I can shoehorn a V8 into anything if I want to badly enough.

For Starters there are different types of GTO's
but my GT beat a blue GTO the other day... some dumb kid thinking he can drive...his dad's car...WRONG...go home with your pride.
um a moded gt meaning superchip, cold air intake, new headers and low gears upgrades will probably beat the gto in a 1/4 mile. you will jump the gun then he might come back but dought it.
This is an old thread but wha tthe hell? 03/-04 Cobra will kill and LS1 GTO. Mid 12 sec car against a high 13 sec car? The numbers speak for themselves. Like someone else said, even the LS2 GTO couldnt beat the cobra. A lightly modded GT should take a LS1 GTO, i drove one a while back and it didnt feel any quicker than my bolt on GT before my blower. Didnt see what all the hype was about. Overrated i guess.

The GT might be able to take the GTO off of the line due to the IRS on the GTO but the GTO will definitely start pulling on the GT later on down the road. 350hp>260hp... The 2v runs out of steam while the LS just keeps on pulling and gaining. How did the GT vs. GTO part come up anyway? lol
The 03-04 Cobra's would have no problem with an LS1 GTO and it would probably be a driver's race with a LS2. Everyone on here seems to love giving magazine times not average driver times with these cars. They compare what a pro driver gets not what they themselves could get...
Cobra will pull the GTO from start to finish LS1 or LS2...i wouldnt say your semi moded GT would take but it would be a better race than the Cobra and the Goat

i know at the track i beat a 6liter. i was only pushing 6lbs of boost and still had factory exhaust. i got him out of the hole but he was running me down quick. he had a full exhaust system to.

The cobra will get it hands down. If he has not done anything to the GTO to fix the heat soak problem. My friend has an 06 6.0 and it ran a 14.6 because it started to retard the timing due to heat soak. They make a relocation kit for it and it is supposed to make a huge difference. But you should get it w/o breaking a sweat.
