Default I got Dyno'd ...... :)

2 tunes......street and race..
475hp/493tq Street

530hp/520tq race...

I went with the SCT chip and got a SCT hand tuner.........Takes about 7 min to switch modes......

It was tuned at Lonestar Performance in Dallas, TX.

I wasn't impressed though. (he only did 3 pulls and decided he didn't want to "mess" with it anymore that day...WTF?)
I'm paying you for this...DoH!.....We didn't have my compresion ratio (I bought a tester yesterday) so my timing is 10-12 degrees still...not bad for 12 degrees of timing......

I am going to have it re-dyno'd at another shop in the next few weeks....and most likely with my comp ratio known It will make 530+ street and 550+ race tune....

My steering rack is now shot to hell so I am getting another put in this weekend (150$ ).

Very very nice numbers man. I'm glad all the waiting and money are finally enjoyable.

To start, congrats, nice #'s

Now for the tech part:

You're engine builder show KNOW your compression ratio. If he doesn't, he shouldn't have been touching your engine.

You should be making more power than that. But without specifics (ie. what trim vortech you have? I thought i remember it being a T-trim), what your a/f is (show dyno graph) and total timing.

You should make closer to 600rwhp, if not 600rwhp on a good race tune with added timing. The aftercooler is going to be your limit though. I'd suggest looking into water injection. It's safe and will bring your ambient temps along with your aftercooler down into or below 0*

hell yeah, water injection in conjunction with a good race tune would be awesome. GTRaptor posted up a pretty sweet DIY meth injection thread last week. However, I would limit the tuning for meth injection use strictly to the race tune. I'm very very leary about relying on an expendable resource for steet use, what happens if you're depending on it and run out of the mix at 6000 RPM at full boost?

I do agree. Meth>water, however for a street use, water would be the safest out of both.

To give you an idea of power than can be obtained with water injection, i've got an example:

Ported heads
Built block
Comp 278 cams
STOCK PI INTAKE

Engine dyno'd 601 rwhp with a novi 2k, and paxton 2 core intercooler. Ambient temps were ~80. They added water injection to the exisiting setup, and made ~690 rwhp. Even better was the fact that ambient temps dropped to EXACTLY 0.

That's all made with a stock PI intake. Imagine what a setup with a RR or P51 intake would have made

My engine comp was 9-1 when it first was done, after my huge ordeal this summer I was/am unable to cuntact the ahole who put my cams and springs in.

I bought a compresssion kit and it should be here friday.
Yes I should be making 550+ hp I totally agree!!!!!!!

And yes the Shop I am at now (MMP) totally suggested the methanol injection as my next step...

Right now my steering rack is shot, my front springs are too short...(rubbing my cats everywhere!) so sat I am putting on a new rack and ford racing front springs to lift me .75-1" up in the front.

I have another tuner/dyno lined up to do another dyno run at a different shop.

BTW---I lucked out that my motor was built well and wasn't crapped together......no leaks anymore......But I got shitted on the specs...

I have the first gen Sc from vortech...bought it in 2000.....But we put a 2.65" pulley on it........was 3.?? somthin.

I am getting about 15lbs of boost at peak........
10 degrees of timing street tune 475 hp
12 degrees of timing race tune 530hp
My air temp stays about 116-120 degrees (a bit high)

I am definatly going to re tune it cause the Dyno I am going to is "state of the art" and they actually have compression tools...DoH!
I wasn't aware that Lonestar perf. was underdeveloped in the dyno area.....it was pretty getto......he had to fuk with his Y-band for 30 min to get it to even work.......

Yeah...Yeah.....I didn't get the best service, but live and learn.....

I am still happy though.....3rd and 4th scratchin is fun and she runs strong......I can launch crazily from first and raise the wheels a bit if I stick (17X8 nto1's) and it's weird having so much power in 5th gear with this TKO 500 tranny. It used to be so sluggish.

Thanks for all the feedback.....

We'll see what this next tune does....

that tool only records CRANKING COMPRESSION in PSI. It does not record actual compression ratio. Compression Ratio is determined by many factors, by which can only be done with the engine dissambled (piston dish, deck height, CC size, etc)

Holy SH1T! What rods/pistons are you running to handle that power man? What kind of crank? Aluminum block = nut everywhere.

Did you just drop in a new shortblock, or rebuild her? What heads are you running?

Congrats on those numbers!
