Are Steeda underdrive pulleys worth it and do they affect driveability?
I was wondering if anyone has the steeda underdrive pullies for the 01' and up 2V GT's, and if so what do you think? are they worth it? does it effect the drivability due to the accessories turning slower? and does it turn the water pump any slower?
Thanks for any input.

Steeda UDP's are the best IMO because they are the non-piggy back style pullies. I don't have them myself, but most people are pleased with them, and don't complain about any charging issues. Pullies are a great way to free up some HP at a low cost. /just be sure to torque the crank pully properly.
I had Steeda u/d pulleys on my GT. i put those on and a Steeda timing adjuster at the same time. It made a decent difference you could feel. More torque. Well worth the cost IMO. My headlights dimmed very slightly at idle..that's it
Had the ROUSH U/D pullies with T/A on the 98 for short time.
No driving issues and never a problem with accessories/stereo.
Good mod.

I believe March make both styles. I had the piggyback style on my GT before the blower and never had any problems charging, and I was pushing 2 10's with a 1600w amp. Got em' for $135 shipped!
Thanks for the pointers, I went with the march pullies ($60 on ebay!!!). Does it use the same size belt, and how hard is it to change the crank pullie? Could I do the complete install with just basic hand tools and a pullie puller?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can use the same belt. You can do everything with the exception on the alternator pulley, unless you have an air compressor with an impact wrench. The puller to pull off the crank pulley is actually called a Harmonic Balancer puller, which can be bought at any autoparts store for about $15, although a pulley puller may work. Once you get the stock harmonic balancer bolted to the new pulley you will need to boil the 2 on the stove for about 10 minutes, take it straight out and it will slip right over the crank shaft. Once you get that and the water pump pulley installed, you can drive it to a shop and have them swap the alternator pulley. They shouldn't charge you much, if anything.
