Wass up guys, I currently own a 2001 Mustang V6 but I am planning to buy a new car when I graduate this summer. If you were confused between buying a 2007 Mustang GT or a 2006 Nissan 350 Z. Which car would you go for, because I need to hear what you guys think because I am unable to make a decision because I love both cars, and my parents are telling me to buy the 350 because the Mustang GT is not good on gas, and they don't want me to keep spending money on refueling the Mustang every other day. Don't tell me to buy a 2007 Mustang V6 because I do not like their bodystyle
One option I may conisder is to buy the Z350 and keep my current Mustang and work on improving its speed, an make it look hotter
ok, i have a 2002 GT, and my father has a 03 infiniti G35 coupe 6speed (similar to the 350z)
it is a great all around car, the brembos you can get on the manual are great, the suspension is really good for road raceing, now they wont have the good ole V8 Torque, and horsepower aswell.
mustang will take a 350z, especially a geared one.
p.s. common you will never get a car to sound as good as a mustang does.

I had the same delima, but the 350Z is just not that fast in a straight line and mods are expensive.
I went with the mustang for the Bang for the buck value. As far as Gas miliage, who said the 350Z was so great?
I am not sure what the specs are on it, but the manual does have a 6th gear which will help.
Its really what you want to do with the car. I dont live near any race tracks, so I wouldn't be getting the opportunity to exploit the handling of the 350, but on the other hand the Mustang handles good enouhg to enjoy on everyday roads and is much more fun at each redlight. Plus there are many suspension kits out there as well.

my car does fine.. and i cant even accept any of it ...
the GT will own a 350z in a straight line... a 350z with an awesome run = 13.9 area... good run on a 07' GT Manual = 13.5... You could also pick up a 04' Cobra for the same amount of money you can either.. actually cheaper :O.. food for thought?

my friend has a 2005 350z 35th Anniversay (same motor as the 06/07), and we both have simliar driving styles, and i average about 17-18mpg, and he averages about 19-21mpg, so its not that much of a difference. kyle f does have a point tho, the mods for the Z are expensive. a cat back for it is upwards of 1k, and thats JUST the catback. likewise, i love both the Z and the stang, but the mustang is a better value for the performance, altho the Z will outhandle the mustang. also...mustang is 4 seater, Z is only 2. love the torque of my car, but i love the hi-revving engine on the Z. personally i am not a big fan of the s197, so i would take the Z over the 07 GT, but not over my 98GT. if i ever buy an import its either going to be a nissan or toyota, they both make awesome cars.

Best of both worlds .... that would be my recommendation.

I got a 300 zx twin turbo for sale if you want it... lol. I would choose the mustang though. I love my mustang more. Or get an 04 cobra! I my dad also has a G35 and its nice and all but i would stick with the mustang. Much easier to work on in my opinion! Anyways thats my 2cents!

Overall, the 350Z is probably a "better" car. If you are just looking for the best overall sports car, stock vs. stock, the 350z handles better, is about as quick, and (sadly) is probably more reliable in the long run.
BUT -- it's not a Mustang. If you are a "Mustang person", you'll get tired of the 350Z. There is nothing like the sound and fury of a V8.
There is a built-in community with the Mustang. Case-in-point: You're a member of this site and you may belong to others; you likely go to Mustang Cruise nights and shows. There are Mustang clubs everywhere. There are Nissan Z clubs too, but nowhere near as many. And while a well modded Nissan Z attracts attention here-and-there, a bone-stock GT draws admirers and thumbs up everywhere.

i have to agree with langod. besides, there is so substitute for torque. Z is an awesome track car, and while i might pick it over the s197, i would never choose it over the sn95.
