Throw some subframe connectors, upper control arms, lower control arms and urethane bushings on it and go from there.

First you need to know that nowadays there is no other sports car with a live axle on the whole planet.
And belive me, there is a reason for that!
No matter what you do, a live axle will always have large unsprung mass. This means that the bound/rebound just can't be made as fast as on a independent rear suspension -> loss of stability.
If your intension is to make a stang go fly around corners do:
- subframe connectors
- lowering springs / struts
- Cobra IRS springs / shocks
Thanks guys. Has anyone been to the track in Grattan, MI or Putnam Park in Indiananpolis? My brother races sport bikes and said that there are car days before his races. Just wondering if anyone in the area knows anything about them.
I used to do it down in s.fla. This scca group would set up a legit/ timed cone circuit in this huge parking lot. I used to go there every month or so and it was like 30$ for a couple of run. Of course one one car at a time. I did decent- always like 8 or 9 or 10th out of like 20 or so( and i had only been doing it for like 3 months) but that was when my car was stock because they put u in a different class based on you mods and you car has to meet dB requirements if you have a exhaust. Then my tires went bald and i just sort of got out of it. Fun but i wish i can one day afford a miata to road race on the side.
I road race my 97 at Sebring, Moroso, Road Atlanta, Homestead, etc. I race with NASA (National Auto Sport Association) and PBOC. The FIRST thing you need to focus on is the brakes. Get the best brakes that you can. I've see guys in the driving schools with high horsepower engines that have stock pads, rotors and calipers. It doesn't take many laps before your dealing with some seriously brake fade. After that, then focus on the suspension. As far as the suspension, I love Maximum Motorsports parts. I run on Hoosier racing tires. If your serious, get a back up set of rims with strictly racing tires on them. I have them heat cycled. It's a blast, though, and I prefer it over 13 seconds on the quarter.
i used to autocross too. I have been looking for the local SCCA gatherings in South Florida. one of you Floridians should post up the info where they have the monthly autocrosses.
I have been racing for 18 years. it is a completely different rush than drag racing. gets my legs a shakin with adrenalin. i have even done some road racing in a Spec RX7.
i am looking forward to getting the 05 back on the cone guided twisties. make them cones shake in their chalk outlines.

I have the Cobra break upgrade, is that good enough? They came on the car when I bought it. The thing that worries me the most is that they still run off of the original master cylinder. THe guy i bought it off of is an engineer at Ford and said that it would be alright but I think he ment for the street. I have never got around to changing it because I dont think my upper trut tower brace would fit anymore.
i was under the impression that both the cobra and GT used the same master cylinder, am i wrong on this? and hooligan98, do you have the 2 piston cobra brake upgrade or the 4 piston bembo upgrade (cobra R)?
