Talking Finally got my 2001 4V Cobra engine. (pics inside)

Finally got the engine, started to tear it down. IF you want any specific pics let me know, or want me to explain anything 4V related, post up.

How much did it cost? I wanted to do a 4.6 swap to my 01 V6, but I don't know if it'll be worth it. What do you think?

Well the engine was bought just as a core, even though i have 2 entire 4V's in pieces already in the shop. I bought it because it was complete and costed only $850. The block and crank are worth that alone

You're better off selling your car and buying a used GT. The swap would require many parts, and if you can't do everything yourself, i don't think it's a good idea.

Couple key things to also note. I found out that the block is actually a teskid block. I was expecting a WAP since it's an 01, and the teskids were mostly phased out in 99, but it's indeed a teskid (which makes the $850 purchase price even better).

Also, while i had it down at the longblock, i decided to check the tolerance of the stock cam gears in factory form. I found the cam gears to be 4* advanced from the factory

That's what I'm probably going to do.

There is supposed to be 85k miles on it, but i don't trust anything i read, lol. I was looking for a blown/hurt 4V for a core, when i came across this. For $850, i couldn't pass it up for donor parts.

Well, i finished tearing the rest of it down today. I did fine a headgasket leak between the #5 and #7 cylinders. The rest looked great though. This is the millionth 4.6 i've torn down and everyone has bearings that look brand new. 85k miles and these bearings were beautiful.

I guess i need to get started now
