Hello, Can someone please explain how to get those bulbs out ! I tried for like an hour and finaly gave up. I am sure that it is easy but I just coulden't figure it out. It looks like you need to unscrew that round thing around the unit that holds the bulb in place but I could not budge it?? Help as I want to also put in brighter bulbs....... Also what is the brightest bulb you can get for the 02 Mustang and where to buy in Sacramento,CA?

I would think they would be remotely the same as a 95, in which there is a lock-ring on it that twists off then the bulb comes out... or the bulb itself twists...
either way the bulb comes out the back.
Im not sure of the brightest but the PIAA's and Silver Stars are quite bright.. they are at most auto parts stores..

HEADS UP, do this when the headlight is cool and has not been on for a few hours, the bulb(s) will be hot to the touch and will burn you....as I did.

The headlight bulbs can be taken out by pulling two pins that are sitting on top of the headlight assembly. The pins are about 6 inches apart and has holes on top of them. Once they are out, slowly and gently grab and slide the headlight assembly out very slowly toward the front of the car. DO NOT PULL out the headlight assembly hard, you may break the wiring harness. Then, press the tab on the wiring assembly of the headlight bulb. Then there's the locking cap/knob with ridges, turn that counter clockwise and pull it out. Placing in the new bulbs is as easy as taking the old one out. The headlight assembly has three slots that will put the new bulbs in place and will not move. Reassembly of the headlight assembly is the reverse of the disassembly.:thumbsup
