Hey all, after everything, all I have to go on my fence repair is to paint the hood, front bumper, and drivers side fender. YEAY! However, I got looking at the user galleries today and found a rather interesting idea for my mustang gt. I am attaching some photoshop'd pics of my car, to what i think it will look like with a sort of mach1 reminiscent paint job. Lemme know what you think! I am going to be putting on a chin spoiler and thought I would give it some more classic cues that would really pop with the red paint (E8).

Personally, I prefer this sort of thing with a shaker hood - otherwise, it dominates the key hood visuals too much. Is that a cowl induction hood? If so, its even more dominant. Too much so.
Luck with the paint - are you doing the job yourself?

yea, it is a cobra r style hood (earlier like mine). I didn't do the car justice by photo'chopin it, but I went out with some black paper, taped up the area in the pic, and it didn't look to bad. My hood isn't a tall rise, or I believe it would stick out too much :P
I am going to do the work myself, I have all my own equipment, bought it just for this. I guess we will see how it turns out!

Well, I got my hood sanded, primered, sanded again, tack clothed and everythings good to go with the painting. Well, I laid a light coat, after another after another, like you are supposed to do. I stop to let it tack up, and get to looking at it. THE PAINT IS THE WRONG COLOR AND IS SEPARATING! So I sand it down again, check my mix, its good, and try again. The paint is still crap! I had the Napa in Monte Vista mix it, and the first time I ever got paint there it was good, this time it is horrible! $180 in paint for my hood, bumper, and fender and this is what I have to work with... Great.
Im gonna try and make it work, I may have to tint it a little more but matching my other fender/rest of the car is gonna be a b****

Well, I finished up the fender, hood and bumper. Its not great, but considering what I had to work with, I think it ended up okay. Im gonna do the rear spoiler, side stripes, and the chin spoiler when I get back from MI here in about two weeks (2800 miles).
So, what do you guys think? Better? Worse?
One pic is before, with primer hood, bumper work being done and a black fender... others are of today.
