1996 Mustang Magnaflow Exhaust Tips. Indispensable to a great sounding exhaust! When I bought my 96 GT I wanted it to sound meaner, and because I was used to a 5.0 (88 GT, my previous car) with Flowmasters; I installed the Force II Cat-Back (3 chambers, stock looking exhaust tips, monster quiet) system and was dissapointed because it was quieter than stock (the BBK catted X-pipe wasn't helping either) so after 2 years I've decided to upgrade. I went with Magnaflow mufflers (using the previous flowmaster piping and BBK X-pipe) and was pleasantly surprised at how much faster the car felt, straight trough mufflers and X-pipes do play well togheter, but the difference in soud althoug an improvement wasn't really noticable, then I started researching Magnaflow and other straight trough mufflers and was lucky enough to hear my friend Joe Lee borla stingers and noticed the exhaust tips and deep rumble on these cars, so I ended up buying magnaflow stainless steel tips (2.5 in 3.5 out) and not only does the car looks great (96 GT's have a more exposed tailpipe) but the sound is freaking awsome so don't forget: tips are indispensable to a great sounding exhaust.
