My 96 GT's clearcoat is shot and the rear bumper and side skirt need a repaint, the body shop guys are good buddies of mine so I got a great deal on a repaint; now the car is originally black and I'm undecided between painting it completely black or a two-tone paint job (thinking about a Half black-Half red or yellow with a silver stripe separating the two) still don't know which goes on the top and lower half, any suggestions or opinions on other combinations with black?

The two-tone is an interesting idea but in my opinion all black would be the way to go. The SN95 body styles are pretty sexy and the two-tone might be a bit much. I dunno.
I just think it would look really sleek with a good black and the wheels you have.
Good luck either way!

I have a black stang with black rims and when I repaint it will be like a deep red or burgendy on top and black on the bottom. So I say go for the 2 tone. Your stang will definatly stand out in a crowd...

Your car looks good as it is, it would look even better with fresh paint.
So I would say monochrome black. Although your idea of the two tone is interesting, and 02gtmustangs's paint job looks great. It's your call. But remember that this is something that can't be undone that easily, so you better be sure!
I've always wanted to do a two tone scheme on a car. I'd like to do the top half, say from 2" down from the fender corner on up in a copper with the rest of the car black. Then have a 1" blue stripe separating the two.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.
there is a mustang similar to your year running around up here. It has a red body and black on top and looks super sharp. Im a big fan of the two tone so that is where my vote is.
Here's an idea paint the entire car black w/Blue pearl racing stripes. This will look great, custom, and will be a lot less painful for your body guy. I've done this paint a number of cars and it looks great.
Although this two-tone 02mustang looks great, I must say that 96 mustang looks better in one tone or one tone with two stripes on top. Mine is a 96 mustang white color, it also needs paint job, I will do it white again or white with two blue stripes on top. Good luck with your choice!
