Question about the performance of "Halo Projector" headlights
After my last few parts are installed I want to start doing a little to the exterior of my car. A couple of the things that caught my attention are the new line of exterior lighting that is available for my car.
I'm looking first at the "halo projector" headlights. And second, the Altezza clear tail lights. </IMG> I'd buy the ones with the clear lenses and black casing. I've noticed lights that "look" like these are usually equiped on higher end vehicles like Lexus but wonder if these are just a cheap knock off of these higher end car headlights and tail lights. Do any of you own them? Are these headlights sold on ebay with this heading going to develop any problems like collecting moisture easily and will they easily install with my existing setup. Know this is not too much of a technical issue but thought it was better suited here than on the 4.6 talk.

I want to piggy back on your question. I have been curious about the HID headlights and have been toying with the notion of putting them on my 98 GT with the cobra front end. Anyone with any experience installing or using these?

My best friend had a set in his 03 gt. I have a 98, and when he got rid of his car I took the set. By the time I got it, one of the ballasts was bad, so I installed the working one to just see how it looked. It looked sick as hell, even thru the stock crappy cloudy lens. Im going to get a new set but not before I get the 98 cobra headlight conversion, or the clear lights. Dont do the conversion if you have the cloudy lenses. In my opinion it looks bad.
Easy to install and looks great. I had the 8000k cool blue ones.

Where do we get them to fit our 98s? Where have you seen the best price?

I won some returns on the American Muscle store on Ebay--the neat-looking taillights were "fogged" and I knew it beforehand. I went ahead anyway thinking I could "de-fog" them. No way. I tried a hair dryer, baking them in the oven, removing the old silicone sealant the previoius owner had tried, put in new silicone sealant, and still had the problem. I removed the lights and put them aside hoping I'll come across a solution eventually. Still wanted wicked light, so bought a second set on same website without "fog" this time. No problems. I think the overal problem is a cheap design made in the Far East and if you get fog, you're stuck with it. The leak area is probably so small and unnoticeable, you'll never find it.
I also got a set of projector halo headlights for my 01 GT. Again, they were returns to American Muscle from a previous customers, but I made sure the return reason was not for "fog". The customer simply changed his mind. They've yet to go in...I'll get back to everyone after install.
Buyer beware on returns. It's as simple as that.
