yes... your tire is a 245 on there right now and it should fit fine on that 17x9 rim.

although you can go alot wider if you want and maybe get some new 275 for the back and keep the spare 245's for when the front wears out

I am pretty sure your GT rims are 17x8. I have a 2003 GT and that is what mine are. Any tire shop will tell you that the tires will mount to the cobra rims, but the tread will wear quicker on the outside than it will on the inside due to the fact that the tires are going to be stretched a little bit that will cause the inside tread to sink in a little and the outside will stick out a little. Same goes if you are trying to fit bigger tires on smaller rims. They will fit but the tread will wear out in the middle more since the tires will be pulled in a little to fit the rims. long story short, they will fit but will not last as long as they could otherwise. You may be better off trying to sell your GT rims and tires and get good tires for your Cobra rims. In the end I think you will be much happier.

GOT HP is right. If you do autocross, or enjoy taking turns at high speeds the sides will wear- not that fast though....but slightly quicker than normal.

my 95 mustang got hit and spun out on the highway at 80mph and i had some nasty flat spots in the tires. Worked with the guy at the shop and he charged for 245 width goodyears and gave me 235 flakens and some extra $$$.
You could see that the tires were a bit narrower than the rim but they lasted forever.

Do whatever is cheapest for you, lol!!!
