Default How many rpm's is safe?

I have TEA stage III heads and vt stage III blower cams. My valve springs are comp beehive. I am wanting to atleast run it to 6500 rpm shift point. Would that be a safe rpm or can it be higher? It should be on the dyno soon just keep waiting on the tuner to get time.

Well, as long as your not "Detonating" at that RPM your ok. I would defdinatly see what the Dyno does...Street tuning for that RPM is unwise.

You outa try 3:55 rear gears...I switched from the 3:73's and it has made a world of difference in my daily driving and top end. I have enough raw power I can start in 2nd just like it was first , but highway saves gas and I get more out of my power band and rpm's (I can rev higher too.)
This may accomidate your 6000 RPM goal............???

Those springs will be fine to 6500rpm. The question is, are TEA's valveguides?

Come on dont say that. I have already had bad problems with vavle guides, but they where stock ones. The only reason I was wanting to rev to 6500 is because I think with my cams they will still be making good power to or past that. My engine builder has only got it to 3500 so far in base tuning it and he said it didn't feel like they really had came in yet. I dont have any number yet. Had to get a new o2 sensor and now they have to drop the K-member because my passenger header rubs it at idle. I hope he gets it done pretty quick because he is getting an update on his dyno they are taking everything out and putting new stuff in.

TK421DS What are you putting down, I dont know yet. And how much boost?

I'm just gonna wish you luck with the heads. But TEA is known to undercut the guides, to increase CFM flow #'s. This sacrifices stability in the high RPM's, something you don't want to do.

How hard is it to change valve springs with the engine in the car? And when a valve spring breaks does it usually cause PTV issues?
