Default are romeo aluminum blocks any good?

I am ollking at buying an aluminum block for a build on my mustang. I have heard Teksid are good. Whats the story on the Romeo blocks? Will they handle 5-600 hp?

there is no such thing as a romeo aluminum block. It's either teskid or WAP (windsor aluminum plant). Both of which will hold 600hp no problem.

Romeo a steel block? I was told it was an 02 aluminum 2v. Would that be a WAP?

Yes, that would be a WAP block from a ford explorer.

Romeo blocks are all cast iron.

what are the diferences between the aluminum and iron blocks? Will the heads and intake swap over? Any major differences? Is it a worthwhile to go with aluminum over iron?

THe aluminum and iron blocks are identical. The only difference was found in the early year teskid block (93-97). They didn't have a water passage in the front of the driver side of the block for the head. That's an easy thing to fix though, you just need to drill a 3/8 hole if you were to happen to use that block. The late model teskid blocks (98-01) had that coolant passage, and of course all WAP blocks did, as they were used on 2V engines.

Aluminum blocks will save you ~88 lbs from the front end of the car, it is a cheap and good solution for cutting weight.

The romeo plant can't support aluminum production. THe current aluminum blocks are mountain blocks, which are made in MI, but not in Romeo.

I would say you know more than I on the issue. I just read the article and thought I would share it. Either way will go with the aluminum block. Thanks for the input.
