Default What gains to expect with a tuner and 93 octane

Ok well i'm thinking about getting a tuner to shut off my check engine light from the exhaust but i was also wondering about how much hp it will add. I havn't decided if i want the XCal 2 or the Predator, but i was wondering how much hp increase i could get from running a 93 octane tune with the mods i have (mods are in sig).

about 15hp to the wheels; more if u go the a diablosport dyno, tuner and let them fine tune it. Our cars run real rich at WOT and the tuner guy got me a solid 5hp jump from 2800-5800rpm over the original tune from the factory. I was really impressed that steady flat 5hp jump was better than a peak 15 hp at only a few thousand RPM's.

You might see 15 on the ground with a custom tune made by someone who knows what they're doing. The tune thing really helps most when you've got intake and exhaust mods that are allowing enough air flow to jack up your air/fuel ratio. The tuner can write fuel tables to get enough fuel in the engine to take advantage of the airflow. For that to be the case you pretty much need full intake ( CAI, TB, Plenum ) and full exhaust using the stock shorty headers.
