2000 Mustang GT Looking For The Best Bang For Your Buck Performance Mods!
What Up Y'all? I've got a question for ya. I've got a 00' GT, Zinc Yellow Conv. with 36000 miles, chrome deep dish bullit rims, 315/40/17 rear and 275/40/17 fronts, eibach pro-kit, bassani off-road x-pipe, 4.10 motive gears. I'm thinking about making changes soon. I don't want to tear stuff off my engine and put aftermarket parts on. But I'm still looking for more performance. I'm looking at best bang for your buck performance mods. I was thinking about just going intake, throttle body and plenum. But now I'm hearing that I should just spend that same amount for the Zex wet kit and get a good flip chip tune. What y'all think? If you don't think either of these just let me know what you would recommend for next performance mod.
The first mod should be gears 3.73 or 4.10, but for all my mods this one will give you the most improvement of performance and the most bang for the buck!

Gears are definitely the best bang for your buck as far as go fast goodies. Motive and FRPP (made by Motive for FRPP) are the leading makers.

He said that he already has 4.10 gears. My recomendation would be LCAs. That made a HUGE difference in my last car. Would recomend sub frame connectors too. Power is no good if it dosent hook.

How about that...I missed that part. I also missed the part about it being a 'vert. Do full length weld-in subframe connectors. They'll make a world of difference in the car. It won't shake and shimmy like a go-go dancer over bumpy roads anymore.

My car hooks pretty nice with those 315's on the back. Deep dish rims make the whole difference for hook. And the way I drive also. But I would like to do a horsepower mod. Bolt-on possibly. Would you spend 300 on some shorty's before you'd spend 800 on some nitrous with a great dyno tune? What you guys think?

this man knows
SFC's should be one of the first mod for any mustang
With the future mods I have in mind sub-frame connectors is a priority on my list however I have side exhaust. Has anyone seen SF connectors that I could use for this type of application?????

Well to answer your question if I were you I would go with the nitrous, because after buying and installing the shortys it will be $600 or more, and to be honest you wont notice improvment if any. If you are going to do headers then spend $200 more and get long tubes. They actually make a difference. With that said if you are going for power for the dollar then go with the nitrous and flip chip. I have sceen a 2000 GT with 4.10's and a 125 shot running a consistant 7.3 in the 1/8th mile

If I'm installing this nitrous what tests should I have on the engine to make sure it's healthy before I do it? Anybody know where in Detroit I can get the 4.10 gears installed cheapest and reliable? Thanks
