Default will this cam be worth while?

XE270AH-13
I am looking at picking up this cam from comp cams, (I can get it for quite a good deal from a friend). I have the usual bolt on crap and a p51 intake. I am looking at having these put into a set of fox lake stage 2 heads. I have a 02 gt. Will these work and would there be something else worth putting in in place of these? In the next year or two I plan on throwing in a supercharger.
Thanks
dan

the 278's will not work without flycutting the pistons. The 270's MUST be degreed when installed.

I made 355rwhp with the 270's, but I was running out of duration.

Are you referring to Fox Lake ported and polished heads or Fox Lake stage 2 cams?

Somewhere between 300-320 at the ground depending on what other mods you have on the car.

uh no, but if he wants to make real power, then modmax regrinds are not the "best" option.

what would you suggest as far as best gains? I will be NA for the next couple driving seasons. I will swap cams when I add forced induction.

Comp 270's are about as good as you're gonna get, without having to flycut the pistons.

You will lose power with 278. I mean sure you gain a lot of power at high RPM, but do you really wanna be pushing it all from 6000-7000k. Nah the 270, will out perform the 278 on a stock engine (mind you even if you fixed the pistons so there wouldnt be PTV issues) because its power band is more efficient with most of the stock components. So the 278 would be great for really modded engines and blower set ups, with all that high end power a supercharger comes in great to make up for what the engine will lack between 3k-5.5k
