Boost is most definitely addictive. Just think, power of a big block, gas milage of a small block (as long as you can stay out of the boost sometimes).

A gear swap changes the mechanical advantage of the drivetrain over the weight of the car. Think of it as multiplying torque.

First off you can find 410s for a 7.5 rear end. They are not the most common, but they exist none the less.

As for just cheap HP, a cold air intake, full exhaust, and a tune. For cheap performance, gears, lighten the car, and make sure your car is well maintained.

Ok for you to get a S/C it will take all of your $5g. Plus you dont have to get a forged crank as bad as you need rods and pistons. Can you do any of the work yourself. most shops charge $1000 to just take the motor out and back in. If you ever take your engine out might as well get headers. Just guessing pistons and rods plus labor $1500, heads and cams $2000 atleast, TB/ plenum $600, nitrous $600, dyno tune $500. Thats $5200 and you can make plenty of power. High 400's rwhp with a 150 shot I would think.
