Default Has anyone dealt with bamachips.com?

im planning on buying a sct tuner and bamachips offers the sct with 3 tunes for 400 bucks. i was gonna get the torque tune(around town low end) performance tune (spirited high end) and race only tune all for 93 octane. ive heard people say not to buy mail order tunes, so do you think i should buy a sct and get a dyno tune or go with bamachips?

I think everyone speaks pretty highly of those chips. Suppose to be a great product. I personaly would by the tuner instead of the chip.

I have no complaints with my Diablosport tuner Its even a diagnostic tool. Have not heard anything about the SCT. I know you can download custom tunes over the internet for the tuner. As well as read live data and replay.

I bought an SCT and had it dynotuned by Doug at BamaChips. I don't regret it one bit. The car runs smooth and throttle response is a lot quicker now, plus he was great to work with. Like I said though my tune was specific for my car, not a mailorder tune. I would think you would be okay with it though.

just out of curiosity, did you get much of a power gain from it? some people say there cars pull harder after a tune, especially in the midrange. by the way your cobra is BADASS

With the programmer and exhaust being my only power adders I put out 294.4 rwhp and 290.7 rwtq. About 30-40 hp gain over stock. We ran into problems before we got to do the nitrous pulls so I'll have to go back sometime to get those numbers.

thats a pretty substantial gain, but i doubt ill see that much of a gain with my 2v . ive heard people say they only gained 2 rwhp with tuners, but at the very least ill finally get my speedometer calibrated so i can stop putting imaginary miles on my car and ill actually know how fast im going.

doug owner of Bamachips is a great guy to deal with.
I had my car tuned by him a month ago.
the SCT and his tunes arewell worth the money

I did a sct tune and lost hp. I got some post about my MAF, richer, leaner, crap. The bottom line is......just adding the tune or chip, your probably not going to see very little or if any hp or torque gains, or in my case I lost hp & torque.

To see a 30 hp gain is good but you are not going to see that kind of gain without some professional tuning.

I am taking my back next year with my sct tuner and get it back on the dyno.

I have 305 at the crank, which is about 260 at the rear (this is before my headers and exhaust). I pulled 249 rwhp, second pull was 254 rwhp. I pulled the sct tuner off the car, it pulled 260 rwhp.

Typically you are not going to see much with a tune. I read were people got a lot less that what sct advertises. Example, sct boast 15-20 hp, one guy only saw 7-8 on a 2000+ plus stang.

Get a professional tune. Purchase the sct, take it to get it dynoed, they will watch your 02 readings and then adjust. It can get to be expensive.

Last but not least, do not load the sct, chip, etc. and drive around like you just "gained" hp & torque. You may just lowered your cars performance and not even known it. Also, do not go by the cars "tone" or "seat of you pants" this is crap. Go by what you dynoed!

Hopefully next year, I will be close to the 300 rwhp with the headers, exhaust!
