hey everybody this is my first post and i was just wondering if any of you knew from experience who would win a street race between a stock 1994 mustang 5.0 and a stock 2000 mustang gt, i want to know because my friend has a 1994 5.0 and i wanted to know how close a race between me and him would be. And i also wanted to know if putting 3.73 gears in my 2000 mustang gt will make a big enough difference in acceleration to be worth the effort?

Hello and welcome!

First, your GT. Is it a standard or auto? If it is a standard, then yes 3.73s will be a big enough difference to make it worth in IMO. If its an auto, 4.10s are key (perhaps higher depending on preference.)

As for your race, Stock for stock, on paper, you should win. Of course, bad launches, condition of your car or his car ect. will have their own effects.

A 2000gt should beat a 94 5.0 w.o a problem (stock for stock). And yes 3.73's are worth it and the best bang for the buck as far as basic mods go.

when my car "Was" stock well just drop in knn i blew a "full bolton" 89 5.0 and i think its a bit lighter then the 94.. you should smoke him and the 373s will help you more and if you can get the gears id get them not only to smoke the guy just to have an all around faster car and overall my opinion best gears
