I finally ran my car at the track. It was very tricky to run becuase of the street tires. And you can not really slip my clutch. The first pass was a 8.66 at 91.7 mph. I tried to take off at 3500rpm but it just bogged down. The next time I went a little harder and it just spun like crazy and went to second and it just kept spinning so I just stopped and coasted down the track. Oh and my 60 ft. times where 2.3's.
My last pass was a little better I ran a 8.23 at 96.15 mph. A 2.2 60 ft. I just took off normal and nailed it, but my car doesn't start pulling till 4k rpm so it wasted a lot of track before it started pulling. I think with some DR's I could mph over 100. I went across the line with 3rd right at my rev limiter. I know it has quicker times in it with some traction but I think it has more mph also if I could leave the line in my rpm range.

I would love to see that with DR's on it like you said. It would be nice to see it on a 1/4 mile and see the topend pull. Have you thought about 410 or 430's?
You can step up to 4:10's but with such a traction problem, they'd only compound the problem. Get some DR's but get some 15 inch wheels and then 28 inch tall DR's, like a 275/60 and you'd get both traction, and then a little wiggle room as far as the rev limiter's concerned. A slightly taller tire will effectively reduce the gear ratio and will keep you in your powerband without getting close to the limiter, and would take the shock of launch better than those 18's you currently have.

Ask me why I ran "only" a 13.54.

Not bad for a first time out! With that MPH, you should be running mid-low 7's, on DR's of course. If you go that route, build the rear-end to handle it.
Yes I need to get some 15's and 28" inch tires. I bet it would run a lot better. If I could leave at 4k+ rpm and not spin in the upper rpm's in 2nd then I know it would run great. I jumped 6 mph from taking off easy and not spinning of the line. But my car is such a dog till it gets to 4k I wish I had video but I bought new batteries at the gas station and they didn't last 30 seconds. I know I could get some low 7's out of it but I would like to see some 6's.
Mark all I am going to do to the suspension is get some strange engineering front struts because mine are making all kinds of noise. remove the front sway bar. I have some upr LCA's but I dont know if I am going to put them on or not. I couldn't get the stock roll bar to bolt up to them good. I do have a complete tubular front suspension and have subframe connectors.

And from what I have read the stock rear-end should handle DR's. My drag car still has the stock 8.8 turning some 1.6's 60 ft, but it also weights a lot less.

i have seen stock geared and axle cars run on 6grand dumps on 15 et streets and it handles since the tires take the shock and the gearing isnt pushing more torque on the toothpick axles.
could be worse we could have 10bolt gm axles

I've turned a 1.6 60' on MT ET Street Radials, full weight, stock diff and axles on both my GT and Cobra. However, I have heard many horror stories of stock rears blowing out on bolt-on GT's with Dr's. With the power your putting to the ground, the added insurance would be money well spent.
Dude, if you try to launch that thing on DR's you're going on borrowed time, that's a guarantee. Definitely get some UCAs & LCAs from somewhere, Maximum Motorsports has some good ones. Get those subframes connectors on there too. Before you go over to DR's do yourself a huge favor and get some 31 spline axles in that rear end.

I have the subframes in and I have upr LCA's but took them back off because I couldn't get the factory roll bar to hook up to them, I need the upr one. I do need to get some 31 spline axles and get rid of the c clips. What I would like to do is do my rear-end so I can use some slicks and then do my 87 coupe's rear-end making it 5 lug also so I can have one set of slicks for both cars.
