Default Installation fee's for 3.73:1 gears

can anyone throw me some ball park figures on how much it will cost to get the 3.73:1 gears installed?

Holy cr^p!!!!!! You guys are taking a beating. Most around here are $100.00. But if you have friends with knowledge, it's usually only a 6 pack of beer......

Try to find some local AFM members in your area. They may know of cheaper install prices......

well a place called cjponyparts up in harrisburg, pa does it for $300. and it just so happens i'll be up there over the new years holiday to visit my parents. i just wanted to make sure i'm not getting "shafted".

I paid 400$, but they also installed the bearings.

along with what i just said.. when i get these gears on i just bought.. do i have to go straight to a dyno for tuning?..

You have to replace the barings if the car has 50,000 or so miles. As far as tuning the only thing you need to have adjusted is the speedo. Either buy a handheld programer, have a chip made, or get the Speed-Cal from Dalls mustang at Classic Mustang Parts and Late Model Performance Superstore - Catalogs

Most places around here charge $300-$400.

I charge $250 when I do it (labor only, parts not included). And that's for replacing all the bearings and seals, gear set-up, and shop supplies.

I paid $200 to have my 4.10s and master bearing kit installed by a Mustang specialist speedshop.
