im going to look at a mustang next week, ive been looking for a built wrecked mustang to swap its drive train into my 86' and i found a 99' police mustang. I havnt seen it but the guy that owns it says its got two distributors? 408 badges and says everything on it is from the factory... anyone heard anything like this? i know a 408 is a 351w stroker but i didnt know those were factory? im probably getting bad information but has anyone heard anything about this? i didnt know there was even a police mustang made from 94 and 04?
Sounds like a crock. Police departments stopped using the Mustang in 1993. Not to mention 2 distributors? 408 badges? No way Ford made a Mustang with a 408 from the factory. If it's a custom car, everything is in good order, then fine but don't fall for it being a former Police vehicle. Either that, or it was seized in a raid, street racing, or otherwise. But even then it didn't come factory with a 408. Sounds like someone's project and trying to make it sound more impressive.

the 408 badges can be ordered online and can be applied by anyone.
The car its self could have been a car odered and put into commision by some local police department but why would it have a push rod engine in a modular car. nothing you were told makes one once of sence. I would look else where.

Illinois State Police had some 99 - 02 Mustangs and 99 - 02 Cameros/Firebirds. They were total sleepers. I got pulled over by a cop in a TA because I thought he was racing me. He was cool though and let me go.

.....and add Maryland to the list of states wth 1994 up Mustang Police Cars, although all the ones I've seen, were V6 cars, no pursuit cars that Im aware off
Only dif between normal 99 & police packages are oil coolers for engine & trans,otherwise: stock 4.6, a buddy of mine does maintnance on some of these and he says thats the only odd thing he can spot. Hey Joe! did this one pull you over?

seriously guys, the seller is just a dipshit and doesn't know what coil packs are. To anyone that thinks they're an enthusiast because they built a couple model cars it's probably a common (but stupid) mistake.
